I installed Opera Browser to try it out and when I did it seemed all the web pages loaded a little nicer but took forever, HOFO loaded in like 3 mins but in IE it loads in like 10 seconds, whats the deal with that?

That was my complaint as well... Beta 1 SLOW, Beta 2 SLOW. What beta are they at now and have they enabled a proxy option?

Opera renders stuff much faster than IE for me. Maybe it's your phone or connection. Per proxy, you can always edit opera.ini and change the "accelerator" addressort to a proxy server addressort. They're different terms for the same thing.

What do you mean when you say addressort or are you just being rude?

Anybody know a fix for it?

I was more referring to load time of loading the browser app and not pages itself. Once the browser finally loads things are fast. It's just I can check 2 site using IE in the time it takes Opera to load.

Thanks for the info about the ini file containing the port info!

Guess that didn't work very well....I meant address : port. Now that I have the phone in front of me, you copy opera.ini out of \Storage\Application Data\Opera, bring it up in notepad and scroll to the bottom of the file. You find an item named "HTTP Server" which points to an address : port which is Opera's accelerator. Just change that to whatever proxy server you use. I have T-Mobile so mine is set to 216.155.165.50 : 8080. Copy it back when you're done and make sure the "Web Accelerator" item is checked in the Opera menu.

As far as load time....that's life. I've found that, on my E200 at least, loading from an SD card takes MUCH longer than loading out of main memory. Also, once it's loaded, it's much faster to use a task manager like xbar to flip to the existing instance than it is to load it again, forcing it to find the existing instance.
