Some Newbie Questions About Flashing/Flexing And Unlocking

I have a couple of newbie questions about flashing/flexing my Razr:

1) Outside of a slow OS, everything on my phone is great. What would the advantage/disadvantage be of flashing/flexing?
2) If I flash/flex and my phone is currently unlocked, will it cause the phone to be locked again?
3) I have games/ringtones/ and wallpaper installed. Will or some of them be lost if I flash/flex?
4) Will flashing/flexing effect my RF?
5) Will flashing/flexing effect my battery life (currently it's amazing)

And I have a newbie question about unlocking.

I tried 2 times to unlock my phone and on the third time was successful. Have I caused any damage and am I in any danger of permananetly locking myself out? Also, rather than having paid to get it unlocked, could I have done a flash/flex that would have unlocked it which would have cost me nothing but some time?

From my (minimal) experience (with A56>C56 conversion and it's flex upgrade), i think you should backup your phone's ringtones/games etc before flexing.

I am not sure, but i don't think flashing (upgrading firmware?) or flexing SHOULD affect your RF/battery.
Once again, not sure about that.

Can some gurus confirm?..haha.
