I get this ****ing error all the time on BitPIm
"LG-VX4400 on COM4: The phone is not responding while transitioning from none to brew. See help for troubleshooting tips". I have to like retry opening BitPim, disconnecting the USB, the cable from the phone, etc. It takes me like 10 minutes of messing around every time I want to connect. ANyone know whats going on?

Make sure you have the latest bipim also that whole lg thing is a waist of time if you have the latest bitpim just use other cdma phones you ill only be able to use th efile systems tab make sure your phones data transfer is set to automatic.

The new version works perfectly. Thanks dawg.

You said you have that problem with your cell phone and bitpim, switching from regular mode to brew or whatnot. I'm getting the same error. I downloaded the latest version of Bitpim, and I also set the thing to Other CDMA phones (I have the LG VX4400) but alas, when I go to retrieve phone data, all the options are grayed out so I cannot click ok. I tried looking for the eFile system tab, but it's not there. Can you help me out?

Have you ever been able to access the phones files using BitPim, or is it just a pain in the *** and it takes so many tries? I wish I could help, but honestly I dont know a whole lot about this or other phones. I would do as he recommended though and make sure you have the very latest version- in fact a new one was released like at the end of last month I believe. Good luck.

Yeah dude, totally got the new one. Went out to sourceforge and got it. 0.7.29 I believe. I just got the ca ble today, so its a new problem. It's sucky, quite the pain in the ***.

Wish I could help. Maybe try the forum area for LG cells and
ask again there. Someone might have a better idea than us.
Or you could trade your phone in for a Slider and join the crew

if you have trouble connecting to your bitpim, get GAGIN and connect to your phone using that. after it connects, turn it off and open bitpim. bitpim should then be able to connect to your phone almost immediatly
