I found out that the phone works fine right after I master reset it. When I sync Entourage using missing sync (mac os x) that was recomended to me I apparently get issues. Anyone have any ideas?

Ok scratch that...it is still crashing. I called customer support (I boght it from PalmOne) and they had me type in a command that gave an output. With this output they instantly said they needed to send me a new one. Does anyone know what this means?

I type in #*377 in phone and hit dial....An error log comes up saying this:
"A crash occurred on 4/5/05 at 9:54 am while running "Phone":
HALRadioAcDc.c, Line:441, Host wake not asserted in time"

By the way it always give the same error code but sometimes for different apps.

Confused,

I've been fortunate in not experiencing a lot of crashes, however my device does stop quite often for 10 to 20 seconds before continuing.

Anyone else seeing this?

I was about to post a thread on the same topic....

My treo sometimes freezes when I try to wake it from the sleep mode. I can hit the power button to turn it on, but when I hit the center button to unlock it nothing happens...... Sometimes I can't even press the power button to turn it on. I end up reseting it to get it to start working.

I tried the method above and my treo said that there was a fatal exception for an unknown application.

Starting to get annoyed.......

That error code "HALRAD.." is due to faulty hardware, return it for a new one. Let PalmOne know what error you get and they will know right away that your crashes are due to faulty hardware.

hey everyone,
I just got my TREo 650 for Cingular yesterday.... I don't know what's going on! the phone keeps shutting itself off, and when I check #*377 it's told me that I've had system errors while running everything...realplayer, phone, web... basically everything I've used. this is a nifty device, but if I can't actually make calls on it, it's useless to me. does anyone have any suggestions for me? do I just need to pack it in and return it, or am I doing something wrong? is there any solution for this? I miss my 6620 already!
thanks for any help

That's the reason I had to give my Treo up. Granted nothing is perfect, but I'm finding myself troubleshooting my device all the time instead of having billable time for my company. Great device, but Palm OS should be shot out of its misery. Bring Cobalt (or the linux palm os) out!

Well Are you using the Goodlink software? Also make sure that you are not using the Gemplus simcard, those SIMs dont get along with the Treo 650s.

hi, thanks for your replies. what's goodlink software? is that the sync program? also, how do I tell the difference between SIMs?

If you dont know goodlink then dont worry about that, its a professional PIM syncing software. AS for your sim card, you do not want the Gemplus version. Pull your sim card out and look at the side with the copper contact. Look at the first line and pay attention to the last character. G means its gemplus and A means it Axalto. Gemplus cards will also have their name on the back side too. If you have this card, perform the ROM update off of palmOne's website or just call your wireless provider and get the Axalto sim card.

Which do you now use as your primary device since surrendering your Treo? Is it the Sony Ericsson P910? If it is, do you sync with Outlook? Any issues?

Not trying to be biased here but once you get a phone with a versatile OS on it like Mobile Windows and Palm OS, the likelyhood of getting into trouble increases since it does give you the freedom to do alot more on your own. OS Cobalt will not be any different really except much of the feature we do with third-party apps is now integrated.

Mobile Windows and Palm OS is not for everyone. If your are spending too much time fiddling with it and not enough phone time then Id suggest getting a Symbian OS phone. Functionality is a bit static but it does eliminate the unkown variables. The Nokia 6620 is a killer phone.

the palm os is not meant for multitasking thus the need for cobalt or beyond. one of my requirements is having a thumb board, so the 6682 is out of the question (i hate t9 input)
