Free internet on laptop or computer via tm50

1. Get a data cable
2. download the sharp tm150 software and modem here http://212.103.248.44/sharp-mobile/...spx?countryid=1
2. install usb software
3.install modem drivers and when you setup the modem change it from internet2.voicestream.com to wap.voicestream.com then hit next make sure u set the dial number to *99# and leave the user name and password blank
4. after u set up the connection u have to change your proxy settings to 216.155.165.50.... port 8080 and thats all
works fine for me.

hmmmm.very interesting,since im stuck on a service which has actually treated me very very well,seee im in NY,and here there used to be a free NY only dial up service...its discontinued officially,but for some reason still conects for the last 3 years...
im poor...i'll be getting cable internet in a month or two,but hey since im on dial up anyway.. id like to try this,i set everything how you described
the dial up connection seems to connect
but theres no web access
i havent edited the proxy settings because i dont know where to find these controls,im using windows xp

i mean i seriously dont know where to input that proxy number,is taht a default gateway? ..IP ? dns?...where in the worlld do i input a port number...?

whoo,it works,i set firefox proxy up,works great,i cant uuse the same settings to connect with AIM,but its no prob,ill stick with my normal dial up
let me know if theres anyway to set like a universal proxy and port for teh pc
