I am hoping this is possible....

I am in the Austin, TX area and am a Cingular subscriber. I would like to be able to have my phone readout my GPS coords. Does anyone know of a seem edit etc to make this work?

I read some other posts by searching but cannot find a definite answer as to whether it will work on:

Moto V551
- and -
Cingular

All help is appreciated!

Once more thing....anyone have MPT showing a V551 skin? Do I just have an old version?

Liveupdate your MPT and it will have a V551 skin. Newest version is 3.23.

Live update worked like a charm for the skin. Now I need to find someone to help me out on the GPS readout....anyone?

GMS based services don't support GPS functions. As far as I know thats only limited to Nextel because of the way iDen works.

Thats what I thought the towers must triangulate the signal durring an emergency call to give an aproximate signal.

the tech behind the emergency stuff isnt fully put into place though because it was somewhat controversial at the time

bye the way , the nextell phone that I used to have the gps didnt work either, even though I had subscribed for that kind of service
