I just bought a new & unopened 7100G off eBay. It was described as being ATT compatible - ut I understand the 7100g's will work on both ATT and Cingular

I have a voice and data plan with ATT that I use on my Treo. There is no reason to change to Cingular becuse the plan is more expensive and I have to sign a new contract.

How do I get the 7100g recognised by the ATT network and given its own email address. Is there some sort of signup that will come with the phone?

My idea is to use the desktop redirect with Outlook to push email to the 7100, but aside from the att email address for my phone (555555555@mobile.att.net), how does this work??

Am I missing something really obvious here.
