Is there a way for me to find out what kind of flash and flex S/W is on my phone if my phone only goes into bootloader?

dont go into boot loader, check this from your home screen, the one you dial phone calls from. It works on my v180 it should on your moto too

My phone is borked and I can not boot normally.

did you try pulling out the battery and the sim, re-insert the battery and restart, then pull out the battery re-insert the sim and battery then restart? Thats what I did when mine got stuck in boot loader

Mine is not stuck in bootloader. I had a bad flash and now my phone dead.

Isn't the flash version displayed in the bootloader screen?

Regardless, you will have to flash your phone using a known good flash. Let us know which phone you are talking about and we can tell you which series you have to use (i.e. TRIPLETS or R series)

I have the V600 and I HAVE flashed with numerous different triplets flashes and monster packs.
