Nokia 3100 to 3100b

My gf has a 3100 from work and hates the ringtones, wants to use real music via the voice recorder function available on the 3100b. Is this function just locked out on the 3100, can it be enabled or can the 3100b firmware be flashed to it. Im a motoroola person myself so not familiar with nokias. Any help apprecited.

Which provider is your gf using the phone with? Sometimes providers flash their own customized firmware onto the phone which prevents some menus or applications from showing up. Normally menus are hidden this way, I'm sure if this applies to your question about the voice recorder.
The only solution to getting rid of customized firmware is to have the phone flashed with a generic/OEM Nokia firmware version which is done through a wireless dealer/Nokia Service center.
