THere is a known problem where Versamail V3 mail files get corrupt and causes treo 650 to crash and to auto reset on rogers wireless version.

It's driving me nuts and I hope they have a patch for it soon. However, I have been using the rogers wireless desktop accessed through the web browzer to check my pop mail. Have anybody experienced this on the rogers wireless treo 650?

I think this online mail client is much more stable and has the ability for you to access your contacts online as well.

Im not sure about Rodgers Wireless, but I have seen it with Cingular. Tech said it had to do with a 3rd party app, but the last cust I saw with it hadnt loaded any apps. I am sorry, could someone elaborate what a V3 mail is?? Because the cust I saw it happened everytime, with me it happened for the fist time the other day, but only once, so I am getting scarred, I hope it isnt a constant thing.

Its VERSAMAIL version 3.....

with Rogers wireless treo 650.....

Well it was constantly happening and I had long and multiple call -in's to the Rogers wireless data support Treo support division...and they said that some of the earlier units that were being shipped out caused this system reset. However having been in contact with palmone customer support as well, I have used all of the three techniques listed in the knowledge library to correct the problem and it was still happening.

Rogers wireless had said that the some of the handsets were doing the constant reset and I have sinced ordered a swap and sent the original one back within the 30 day exchange policy.

My intrepretation of all of this is that perhaps maybe when PalmOne was loading in the treo 650's ram....there were corrupted files being preloaded on the units.

The unit I have now is fine and doesn't crash and reset.

I have recently started to get the VersaMail Crash on my Treo650. Has anyone been able to figure out what is exactly causing this? I need to be able to get my emails and this is starting to get crazy.... HELP

I also did a modified version of the article in the second link. I hard reset my T650, and then searched for the "...palmone/username/backup" folder, and renamed the "Versamail" folder in it to "oldversamail". This prevents the corrupted versamail database from being restored onto the handset after a hard reset. This does however erase your versamail settings (at least my method), so you will have to reenter it.

Not certain how far you got with tech support but have you done a hard reset and rename backup folder?

I was having the reset problems with Versamail plus when it did not crash, it was slower than global warming. Furthermore, VM did not seem capable of deleting emails from my POP server. I was ready to give up the T650.

As a last ditch remedy purchased Snappermail and am having a totally different experience. Fast, reliable, better interface etc. Have not tried any of the other 3rd party mail programs which may be as good or better? But, I can say that versamail is a huge achilles heel for the T650.

The new 1.13 patch upgrades Versamail. I am using Versamail and Snappermail. Snappermail is a nice product.

i have gmail with versamail and the phone keep dropping calls ever 5-7 minutes. I was wondering if uninstall the gmail account and not use gmail via versamail will help.
