Price is no issue, I'm just not sure which one I should go for. Motorola A1000 is at the top of my list right now but the Nokia 6230i and Samsung D500 are all great phones in their own right. Help me decide people!

The A1000 is a 3g smartphone, if you arent going to be using the 3g or the smartphone functions, then you shouldn't spend your money on it. The phone is also slightly dated since its succesor has already been announced. The 6230i has more features than the D500 but a smaller screen (though higher resolution). The nokia has edge data, memory card and an fm radio.

It's a 3G + Triband.

A1000 is actually one of the PDA phones that i liked the most. It runs on UIQ Operating system. It also equiped with the stereosound system that e398 provides. It feels small in hand, VERY comfortable when talking. If you are farmiliar with the SE P800/P900, you'll like the A1000 very very much.

D500 looks impressive, but afterall..it's a Samsung. Pretty simple and straight forward, impressive screen, good sound quality. Reception is above average, however mp3 ringtone quality is terrible.

6230i is nothing more than a 6230 /w 1.3MP camera, edge

My pick: A1000 for sure. I am a smart phone person.

I'm well aware that its 3G and triband GSM but if he doesn't need the smartphone functions or the 3g, then he shouldn't spend the money on it. If he is gonna use the smartphone functions, then he can justify the purchase. The D500 is a great alternative and so is the 6230i which also has a better screen and a few other enhancements over the 6230, not just the camera. (Both phones have edge)

6230i not exactly cheap, for the amount of improvements it has over 6230 at the current market.

A1000 is the best bang for the bucks IF he were gonna pick between these 3 phones only

Overall i still vote A1000 one of the best PDA phone i've used (size/function) =)

I've been scouting around and here are the current cheapest prices I've found for the phones so far.

Nokia 6230i - £250/$470
Motorola A1000 - £220/$415
Samsung D500 - £200/$375

Best value for money wise I'd definitely pick D500, but the 6230i is slightly better which is why I'm keen on giving it more thought. Regarding the A1000, its probably true that I won't make full use of the smartphone functions it has, the fact that it has so much to offer was probably the only reason I considered it in the first place.

I'm looking for a phone which has camera, video, mp3, GPRS and bluetooth, and I think the 6230i fits the bill nicely despite its high price. Let me know what you think!

Its high price is due to the fact that its brand new, the price will drop as it ages, just like the D500 and A1000. Its actually cheaper than the D500 was when it first came out

If you think the Nokia 6230i has significant improvement over 6230, well think again! I had one week to decide whether I want to buy a Nokia 6230i from The Link and I returned the phone after three days because the picture quality is not as good as it sounds! After all the hype about the 'i' version, it certainly let me down.I even thought of buying the phone after I got rid of the 6230 but not anymore.

Yea, I heard the 6630 has a better camera. I've also heard the phone has alot of firmware problems (which should be fixed with new versions).

One more thing about the Nokia 6230i. There is one loud noise or rather a very high pitch sound for one second when you press to receive call. I have encountered the same problem when I was using my Nokia 6230. It is a pity...

I've heard about that one too but I never experienced it when I had my 6230
