how long until we see the new samsung flip

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

ive read something somewhere on the net saying that samsung will be coming out with a new middle range phone with an outer lcd and colour inner screen. it said that the phone already received its FCC ID. so does this mean anything? does anyone know when this phone will be coming out?

thanks

Posted by: phunkEmunky

is it cdma even? and if so. bell will take a few months just to test it. and it has to be approved in canada first as FCC is american. so maybe next year?

Posted by: shaner

It'll be here in less than 3 months.

why do people love sammy's so much.

Every phone has had problems, they drop calls more than any other brand, yes they are cool, but are always a pain in the ***.

Example, for every 1000 calls, my old a500 would drop one in 5

nokia, one in 50

i totally agree. i'll never buy samsung again.

I am in agreement here. Sammy's are a pretty face but lack the performance. The A660 I have will have no signal while the Nokia does and the call quality is the same as if I had full signal.

Posted by: bridgewater

Out of the a500, a660, and a680. i've never had a problem with any samsung i've owned. with the exception of my 1st a680, shutting off by it's self on occasion..lol

The funny part is... bell's sammy's blow whereas Telus sammy's perform exceptionally well. am i the only one that notices this? eg. the a660 vs the a650.. a650 is a rock solid performer whereas the a660 is pure ***. Any explanation?

Yes. The Telus guys are too smug to admit it. Truthfully, the sammy's perform well but not compared to the nokia's. Same on Telus.

all depends on your call volume.

I do 3000+ mins / month, so the number of noticed droped calls is much higher, or my fav. samsung fatures, full bars, to no bars to full bars and three calls missed in the process, they should patient that!

This is true, but what about the LG's? Bell seems to rant and rave how well their LG's perform, whereas Telus definitely has had much more success with the samsung models.

I wouldn't say Samsungs are great on Telus. My 540 had THREE issues in the first 6 months.

i guess that all depends on the model that this person is talking about though doesn't it?

they're not asking when will bell get a new samsung flip.. they're asking when/if bell will get THE new samsung flip phone.

The one that the original poster is describing will be here within the next 3 months.

is your math wrong or am I missing something here....

5 in 1000 is better than 1 in 50 (which would make 20 in 1000)

Because he described it. Trust me, I know which model he's talking about.

I disagree. I have used the 460, 500, 680 Loved every one. Actually more with every model. We sell the 660 10-1 any other phone. Service far fewer. Sure a few minor bugs, but nothing lick the LG's dissapearing screen, or the Audiovoxs simply freezing.
I dont really recommend anything but.

Where's the link to his reference that he's read it somewhere?

I'd have to disagree there.. coming from the front line where a customer first calls to complain about phone issues the Samsungs by far have had the least problems next to Kyocera, Motorola and LG...

I've had a 300, 460 and a 600 and not one has given me problems and barely any dropped calls.. the 460 even took a swim in the bathtub with the kids once and got shoveled in to a snow bank for 2 days and still works great and we keep it as a back up phone.

Due to Nokia's lack of attention to CDMA ..Samsung stepped in and filled the voic. They have cool phones and also have had some really good reliability.. of course they have had the odd blip that all manufacturer's have like 460's black screen of death and the 660's signal strength issues.. but they still sell well compared to Nokia because people are acustomed now to a flip and it's conveniences and you'll find a lot of people turned off Nokia's "candy bar" shape. However, if they get the 6255i .. watch out samsung

All the samsungs I have had all work fine, my old t300 and my wifes a660 work flawlessly, but to compare full bars to no bars is useless since the calibration of the bars to signal ratio could be different, that statement is useless.

Posted by: meemee

I've had the samsung 460 and now the 680 and both of them work flawlessly. Heck, if I can make calls while going down an elevator without having a dropped call, I won't complain.
