vx4500 help?

So I've been lurking a long time in the Kyocera forums but after a rather unfortunate series of events my SE-47 is no more, and here I am with a LG vx4500.

My serial data cable that I got from kyocera still works on this phone, I've already performed the banner hack and managed to get a midi file on there.

The problem is I can't get any of my old mp3 ringtones on there. There all 16khz by 32 bit...i've tried renaming them to '.mid' and even converting them to 22khz...still nothing...I load it on there with BitPim .7.29 by just going to the filesystem tab and adding the file to /user/sound/ringer and it transfers, but when I reset my phone none of them show up...except for that one stupid midi file i put there...

do I need to remove the tag information or do something else or use another program first?

(also on a side note can the 4500 do animated gifs and do I need to use the QPST program to do that?)

Delete all the files in your ringer folder, place the one mp3 file in there (with the renamed extension to mid).

For some reason I can only upload one file myself... Haven't figured it out yet.

After doing some research in an Audiovox forum I found the following:

"Load the JPEGs into Brew/Shared and then load Get It Now or whatever the equivalent is on your phone and escape back out of it and the images should appear in your gallery. The JPEG folder inside the Shared folder is for pictures taken with the camera."

If using the same principles applies then it might work when we throw items in the BREW/shared folder for our phones. Let me know how it works.

When downloading songs using the datacable one has to delete the 'brewRingerIndex.map' file in the "/download/dloadindex/" directory and reboot the phone for it to properly update.
