Actaully, it's been going on for a while now.

After driving around for any period of time, I've notice that there's sludge build up under my 710 cap. Is this normal/bad/critical?

I've noticed that it there's usually more sludge build up under the oil cap in the Winter than in the Summer.

It also shows up under my PCV valve (I just changed the valve today and noticed on the back of the box that a sign of sludge is the sign of a bad PCV valve)

So what gives, anyone know why/how/what the sludge is?

'94 Grand Am, V6 3.1L OHV.

thx.

It's just condensation in the top end of the motor mixed with a little oil. As long as the oil on the dipstick doesn't look milky brown like that sludge, than there is nothing wrong.
