I'm beside myself trying to figure this out. Maybe someone out there can help.
I cant get rid of Google.ca (Canada). When I go to URL www.google.com it takes me immediately to www.google.ca which is the google home for Canada. I've looked through all the settings within google and cant figure it out.
There is a way to set the homepage to a regional setting. They have every country just about but no way to switch back to the standard www.google.com regional home once you select a regional home other than the standard googl.com.
If I duplicate the process on my home pc simply x'ing out of the browser window and pulling up a fresh page restores original settings. Is there a way to reset the browser? Before I loaded all of my software I tried hard resets and that didn't even work. I did the bad password 10x to reset.
If somebody has any ideas I would love to hear em. Thanks in advance for any help.

The Google redirect is hardcoded into the search engine, based on the ISP that you use.
On the google.ca page there is a link to go to www.google.com/ncr.
Just bookmark that, and then you can go right to Google. I don't see why this would be an issue anyways, as the search results are the same.
Or you could just use Firefox and not even have to go to the Google page to search.

yeah I just got tired of seeing Google Canada....not really a big deal. Thanks for the work around.
This is a work supplied device. Not sure if Firefox is software, but if it is I dont think they want me loading anything on this device. They are very tight about that sort of stuff.
The ISP is Verizon Wireless....why would a redirect be hardcoded there? can you elaborate please?
Thanks again.

If you're using reqwireless WebViewer, their servers are located in Canada, so that could be why Google defaults to .ca in your case.
If you're not using WebViewer, I have no idea.
