I was really excited and interested in getting the new Cingular blackberry then I read that I can't use AIM or Messengers with it, is that true?
pls say it aint so.

You need to buy a third party application like Verichat. The Cingular devices do not include any IM software out of the box.

Yes, you can have chatting on BlackBerry nowadays, but you must do some steps on your own. See the Instant Messaging FAQ at:
