(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

If I purchase one off eBay and put my sim card in it, will it work?

Prob a stupid question, but all help will be appreciated!

Thanks!

if you use it on T-mobile, yea.... but if your trying to use it on cingular, it does not have the 850 band, only the 1900 and it does not come unlocked. So no, unless you get it unlocked.... also you might no get service unless you live in a big city...

Cool - Thank you for the fast reply!

also, even if you manage to get it unlocked, you can only use the sidekick for calls and text messages. the data is only compatible with t-mobile, and there's no way around that.

The 850 thing would only matter in certain areas, here in CA, you could do fine without it.
