Betaplayer NORMAL BUFFER SIZE; MPx220

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

After listening to my music for a short period of time, tracks start to clip, studder and stop altogether; eventually a message appears stating my buffer is too small for this type of media. I raised it to 600kb and still have problems occasionally.

Would someone who uses betaplayer in conjunction with their MPx220 and SD card successfully please state their buffer size?

Thanks!

p.s. any clue as to why WMP cuts off short of the end every other song or so? Betaplayer plays all the way through or not at all, WMP will play uninterrupted but skips to the next song before finishing the current track (usually in the last few seconds).

I have a Sandisk 256 in my MPx220 as well. I only have those type of issues playing MP3s when the clamshell is open. It plays fine when closed. It's very strange, but since I usually close it to put it in my pocket, it's not a big deal to me.

Another thing I noticed AFTER I upgraded to the Cingular 1.3 ROM was that right after rebooting, it usually won't see anything on the Storage card on the first couple tries (although it was flawless on the original .325 ROM). I've gotten in the habit of going into File Manager after I reboot and clicking on Storage Card, and then another folder, and I keep repeating until I see my stuff in the Storage card (kind of like I have to kick start it).

no me di cuenta, desculpa

no, not a sandisk... so far speculation is that the ROM has everything to do with it? Any one have settings info for betaplayer or a way to allocate more system memory to players?

From what I've read elsewhere, reading the cards has everything to do with the ROM. One guy who complained of the same issues as I did flashed the chinese ROM to his phone and discovered that his troubles with music file playback were history.

Hopefully the rumored new ROM due out someday soon will rectify this issue.

rom 1.25 work great also, onlything is you have to put back all the cingualr internet settings, but that is a breeze.

Try it sunnyho you won't regret it.

Here are the settings which i don't take all the credit for cuz I wasn't the one that typed it out, but thats them there alright!

If you wanna be safe double check them on your 1.30 rom before you flash to 1.25

pretty sure these are right. test em out.

is that the Chinese I keep hearing about? Does that void your warranty/ exchange ability? Can you just as easily flash back in the case you need to send in the phone for exchange?

I had Nero showtime player. I also have the dreaded Sandisk 256 MB. With ROM 1.30 it would stutter and crash Nero. Also WMP would only play a random amount of each song. With ROM 1.25 all is fixed. Thank you to all that spent time working on posting and testing these ROMs.
