What's your favorite exotic car?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Bratan

Money was not even an issue, what kind of exotic would you get?
I'd get the Ferrari F575 Maranello

Posted by: Bratan

another, better pic

Posted by: Killa-b

nice choice, altho its the last year.

why not an F40 or F50 or F60 ("Enzo")

i would have to pick a Bugatti of some sort. the Veryon is madd nice (concept).

altho i dont like them the Lamborguni Merchulilleo (sp i know) just has MASSIVE amounts of speed, NOTHING compares to it.

BUT, BUT, BUT if i had my true choice it would be a Mercedes CLK GTR. McLaren F1 comes a VERY close second.

Posted by: XeNoN

The McLaren F1 would probably be mine

Posted by: XeNoN

I thought this was actually the FIRST year for the 575. It was the 550.

Posted by: bryankim

Hands down... Ferrari 360 Modena Spyder

as far as i know its the same car. but with increased HP (hence the 75) and some cosmetic changes (hood scoup)

generally Ferrari comes out with a +hp +hood scoup for the last year of a model.

i could be very wrong tho, this is off memory.

Posted by: oggle

McLaren F1 for me. I've loved that car since what... about 8 years ago or whenever it first came out.

Posted by: edwinx

same here, McLaren F1

or Vanquish

or a speedster...

Posted by: The Rex

my friend and i (just for kicks) got dressed up (really pimpin) and went to the ferrari dealership in woodbridge in his 911 convert. actually had do something up in woodbridge, and couldn't resist when we drove by

ferrari guys told us to next time make an appointment (no walk ins; what pricks); at least five year waiting list on any model (prolly better off buying from bigger "dealership" in the state and have it shipped); and while we were leaving they actually said something like "have fun in your porshe" in that really snooty way rich peeps do... i mean the man was punking my boy's 911!!

sure they make nice cars, but their dealers need some help... i mean i get better treatment at mcdonalds!!! and if i ever hit the lotto and had that kind of money, i wouldn't drop it there.

Posted by: Gatorade

I like the 360 Spyder better, its sexier, lighter, and is so much power for only a v8.

same deal w/ a BMW dealership here in OTT. though i wasn't there to experience it, my dad had a rough time there, and his friend also had another rough time there too.

ahh oh well, what can you do? just go find another decent dealership who's not prejudice. secure a deal, get the car and drive back to that evil dealership, and say.."WHAT WHAT! that's what i thought." hehe...j/k!

anyway, like the aston martin vanquish too! same w/ the 575 maranello.

the murchiaelago is cool too! i mean it's dead sexy! but for ultra cool FAST cars, the CLKGTR is got to be a beast! i would really hope they would change that cloth inside the cars. it's painful to the eyes if i remember correctly.

Posted by: Koofteh

Aston Martin Vanquish, nuff said.

When you walked out you shoulda said "There's a reason you're selling Ferrari's and not driving them"

Posted by: Koofteh

Haha, that's a good insult man. That should've pissed off those bastards good.

McLaren F1 - I mean... sitting tight in the middle with 600+ Natural HP behind you! It's as close as it gets to driving a real F1 car!

Then of course I always liked the Quad Turbo Bugatti EB110 SuperSport...

Posted by: edwinx

I remember reading somewhere that the McLaren can out accelerate a F1!

Posted by: cc1234321

911GT2

Posted by: uncdwm

UM, its no contest...
the MCLAREN F1 LM is the best exoticar ever made period. It is gorgeous, goes insanely fast, and the most exotic/rare. If it breaks down a mechanic flies out and fixes your car haha that is awesome!

Posted by: wolwol

hmm, sorry couldn't get any smaller pix, maybach...
www.maybachusa.com for their site
or....rolls royce red label?

u serious?

Posted by: SharpST77

i'd take a murcielago...thats the first car i'll get if my parents win the lottery...hehe

Posted by: uncdwm

yeah and there is mclaren luggage that goes in the left and right panels behind the door and one side has a tool set and all this other cool stuff in it. the car is amazing and you aren't just paying for the car - you're paying for the service and rarity etc. if they didn't fly out a mechanic you couldn't exactly take your mclaren into your local dealership haha. there is a really cool book about the mclaren ($60 but u can just browse at any barnes and noble and borders) that has all the history and stuff about the mclaren.

Posted by: e30sd

E30 ///M3 Sport Evolution

if you have to ask, don't.

Posted by: uncdwm

Ahh the E39 M5's are so nice! 400hp in a 4 door sedan? Nice! Its too bad that the E60 (2003) BMW products are all ugly b/c of Chris Bangle...

onebadm5 - are you white? I was just wondering b/c of your "white guys can't dance" sig

Posted by: Killa-b

Chris Bangle

ARRRRRRRG

altho have you seen the new 7 with the individual package??

Posted by: uncdwm

no i haven't but the e65 7series thing is just UGLY. here are some pics of the upcoming 5 series which is well although not as bad as i thought, definitely isn't an improvement either. and the thing about the design of the new bimmers is that they are heavier and bigger and fatter looking and have more useless plastic and design for the sake of design instead of function...

i don't think the candycorn turn signals will be that pronounced but the grille is too big and it looks kinda like a ponitac...

on first glance the interior doesn't look that bad but look at the window button and how it will look like a buick and is all plasticky and not ergonomic.

compare the rear of the e39 and upcoming e60. the trunk is smaller and it just isn't as traditionally designed and it has curves and sheetmetal that is bad. The M5 version of the e39 is even nicer than this red 5series...

Just wondering why the F40 and not the F50 or Enzo?

I like the meaner and edgier look of the F40 versus the look of the F50 and the Enzo.

Bentley Continental GT

Aston Martin DB7

Posted by: rikku

One more :

Auston Martin DB7 Zagato

Posted by: Killa-b

hmm the Zagato is nice, but i would have liked it if it has been a Vanquish Zegato instead of the DB7.

i like the edgey look of the Vanquish more then the DB7, but you can get a DB7 with stage 9 performance from AM, with ~ 700hp.

Posted by: tsis3

My favourite is Maserati Spyder...sooooo damn nice..

Posted by: Obi_Wan

My vote's for the McLaren F1 LM.
Still the fastest (241mph) and best looking after all these years!

Posted by: forbes400

mclaren f1 or saleen s7 id get a car you never ever see. you see ferraris all the time. you'll never see a mclaren.

Posted by: SharpST77

Posted by: Koofteh

You sure? Cuz they were only gonna make like 25 or something, can you even sell something that expensive on ebay?

With the McLaren, I remember they had this beautiful showroom in London. It was covered by glass all around, there was a silver McLaren and a beautiful woman sitting on the hood. I was only a kid back then, but god, it was so amazing I still remeber it. I think it was on New Bond or Oxford street, don't exactly recall.

its to help reflect heat.

Oh man, the McLaren showroom is still there? What street is it on again?

I go to London often too, was there in August, but I don't really watch for these things anymore. Gotta love London though, especially @ Christmas time.

Shawn

Posted by: grrr8guy

Well I can't tell you if it's still there, since i haven't been there lately, but the showroom's on Park Lane.

This is actually going to be my first Christmas & New Years in London

But I'm looking forward to it

Posted by: Koofteh

It'll be really fun for New Year's especially. Me and my Dad happened to be in London for New Year's, didn't do much though. But it's fun, cuz there's so much going on.

i think it comes with a solid gold tool kit

Posted by: Killa-b

NO NO NO

its just a SOLID PLATINUM 1,000 Piece Tool kit.

Posted by: The Rex

the heat shielding for the engine compartment is gold, but certainly not solid.... just a very thin layer... like the stuff nasa and that building in toronto use

Posted by: TheOne

You know... if they included a solid gold toolkit, the mclaren F1's 0-60 times would be as slow as a civics...

If the engine was solid gold, it would melt after a few minutes of running...

What about a R34 (Nissan Skyline GT-R VSPEC II)
i would take one of these in a second. sure they arnt million dollar cars but a stock engine that can handle that much psi is insane. dunno ive always had a thing for skylines

Posted by: stevek

Yeah Gran Turismo turned me into a fan of the Skyline. Those are by no means cheap (I'm thinking at least $60-$70K to drive one in the USA), but that would be one of the baddest cars you'd ever drive.

I watched a video of a R34 - Mclaren drag race. It starts out with the host of the show saying "And now, you're going to see the difference between a really, really fast car... and a Mclaren F1"

The Skyline got a good jump off the line but after maybe 100-200 ft. it was all Mclaren. -Gone-

Oh yeah if you want to see a great Mclaren F1 video... search WinMX or whatever your fav. file-sharing program is for "Top Gear Mclaren F1." If you find the one with Tiff Needle (sp?), then that's one awesome video to watch. The part where they show the cars being built is awesome, but the real treat is to see Tiff driving that beast... it's a great thing.

PS - There's a lot of awesome Top Gear videos that Tiff Needle hosts... good ones to check out for download are the E46 BMW M3, Audi RS6, and the Mitsubishi Evo vs. Subaru WRX STi race. Enjoy!

QUOTE: Those are by no means cheap (I'm thinking at least $60-$70K to drive one in the USA)

id more then double that price. Thats about what they go far in asia after the conversion. To get it modified to be street legal in USA or Canada + Shipping? it probably be closer to the 200k mark as my guess... also off topic but does anyone know if it is illegal to drive a car with the steering wheel on the right side in canada? or would that need to be converted also?
