I'm considering purchasing this phone, but I'm unsure as to whether I want to get a slider or a flip-phone. Also, I'm dissapointed it doesn't have Bluetooth. Any thoughts|suggestions?

I've never personally used this phone, but I've heard a lot of bad things about it. Biggest complaints are short battery life and having to slide it open to make/receive calls.

I thought slider phones were the new trend? Flip phones are way too common.

Sure, but just being a slider phone doesn't make it good. I'd rather have an SL55, it's less bulky and not as expensive.

The two biggest strikes against the SL65 compared to the SL55:

1: The internet key is too big and gets accidentally hit a lot.

2: Having to slide the phone open to talk.

my gf preferred the sl55 over the sl65 (after i went through all the trouble to get the sl65 for her for christmas, she didnt like it so i ended up getting the sl56 for her)

imo, both have ****** battery life.

the biggest gripe against the sl65 is having to slide the **** thing open to do MAKE/RECEIVE calls. its really lame

and the sl65 is huge compared to the sl55. sl65 cannot be considered "small" even when not slided open. other phones are smaller than the sl65.

the internet key can be disabled, so its not so bad. but the sl55 is definitely easier to slide open than the sl65 (sl65 gets easier to slide open once you use it for a bit, but still harder compared to the sl55)

there are some improvements (most notably, camera), but the camera sucks. i dunno to each his own.

if i had to choose between the two, i would go with the sl55, jus because it keeps spirit of making the phone smaller, not bigger

I just got this phone for my gf, and I played with it for a while and I like it. I wouldn't replace my razr with this, but she doesn't really care about too many functions and whatnot, so it's a pretty cool phone. I still have 8 days to return it. Any more reasons I should actually return it? Any majore tech problems so far you have heard?

so I should return this and get d500?

IMO, yes.....but that's just my opinion

i don't think anyone will be upset with the D500

Small, BT, MP3, better camera, Flash......

nah **** it, I think she'll like the siemens sl65. we'll see. I still have 7 days to return this so we'll see what happens (although I do have to mail it back to chicago). If she doesn't like it I'll get her the d500 or something else. I'm more than happy with my razr though.
