Nokia N Gage Needing Flash Wsod Has Occured

hello, I just recently got the infamous wsod and went too get it fixed In Canada but I purchased it from ebay and it has t mobile software on it. So they wont flash it. So I was wondering if anyone in Canada could flash it for me. I found NOKIA USA and there a bunch of a** holes so please do not refer me to them.

there is another guy in the hofo marketplace. i think i'ma get mines done from him. i forget the name of the store. but the guy's SN is like wyotin or something really close to that. PM him they have a store there.

well nokia canada wont flash it...they will flash QD but NOT original n-gage...so thats why

actually Nokia Canada wont flash it because it wasn't fully unlocked from when I bought it from ebay and had t mobile software. Right now Im shipping out the phone to Toronto to get flashed at cellspeed.ca Thanks for all the help

Thanks, All should go well except.. If my virus was from my mp3's on my mmc and i put that into my n gage and get it screwed again im gonna be pissed, since I have no card reader. Would this work if I loaded up the N gage with the mmc in it. Formatted the MMC then did a full reset on it? would that work?

What is WSOD? its what we call the white screen of death, basically a number of things can cause this, however the main culprit is adding to much data to your internal device memory (not the MMC). This makes it impossible for the N-Gage to write to the C: drive (device memory) during boot diagnostics. When it can't complete this cycle it reboots. The only known way to cure this is by using a flasher. For most peeps that means a trip to a Nokia Support Centre.

1. Always keep a close eye on the internal memory usage. tools-manager-[options]-memory details-device memory. When it has finished listing, scroll down to see the amount of memory free. Never let that drop below 500K the optimal is 1.5Mb or above.

2. Logs, Contacts, calender, SMS, MMS and Email all go automatically inot the internal memory. So think carefully about just how much you keep stored.

3. Bluetooth transfer of large files from phone to phone should always be avoided. As this will cause WSOD if the file is greater than the internal memory you have free.

4. When installing SIS files, do so via the onboard manager as you can select to install to the MMC. Some peeps have been using FExplorer. For instalation purposes only use FExplorer for java (jar files)

5. Where possible always install apps/games to the MMC not the device memory.

6. If you do not have an MMC, get one as the risk of maxing the internal memory is way to high without one.

7. Bluetooth transfer of large files from PC to phone. Unless you are 100% confident that the files are being sent to the MMC then avoid this at all costs. As an alternative, Card readers are really cheap now and considerably faster than Bluetooth

Basically if you keep an eye on Device memory and make sure it never drops too low. You should have many years of trouble free gaming

Steps how to fix the problem without going to nokia care with it works

by rechargin ur phone and then it should go 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 charge bars if it dosent well keep on tryin and wen its active turn ur phone on MAKE SURE U DO NOT HAV A PIN CODE if u do u hav 2 change it on another fone and it will take a long time to loadup after the n-gage loadup wait 4 a minuter and press the menu and if it works straight away delete ur apps ok
