Ok this is how u set mp3's as ringtones and how u get videos on your phone. You find the mp3 that you want and make it no longer than 30 seconds and save it as a .mid file by adding .mid to the end of the filename. And easier way is by going to walmart.com or amazon.com and rightclicking the song u want and click save target as and then put .mid at the end of the filename. THEN go to your email and upload it and email it to your phone by sending it to yourcellnumber@vzwpix.com WALA!!! it uploads to your phone is seconds (give it about 10 seconds) it shows up as a text message and when u open it it plays the song. Then click menu and save media and then it will be in ur downloads folder!!! also you can do the same thing for pictures but THEY HAVE TO BE A .GIF file to send it otherwise it wont get recognized!!! and for videos its the same procedure ONLY the video of course has to be 15 secs or less (havent tried anything more..be my guest and try and lemme know how that works out) and it must be a .3g2 FILE(again havent tried any other).... Then u proceed to the steps above by emailing the file to ur phone and blah blah blah!!!!! ENJOY THIS INFO THAT I HAVE COME TO LEARN!!!!!

That works great except when i email the pictures and assign them to wallpaper, it is not full screen.

There is a white gap at the top and the bottom of the picture when it is assigned to wallpaper. I have tried various sizes, even some larger than the phones resolution.

When i choose a pic taken by the camera, and set it as wallpaper it is full screen.

How do i correct this?

Jason

well u would have to take ur computer and make the resolution of the picture the EXACT size of the phones resolution. That is the only way I know...I don't know the exact resolution but I know that it is somewhere on this thread board......

I know this is probably going to sound real stupid, but how to you save the files as .mid and the others. I just added it to the end of the name and it did nothing. When I went to properties it was still .mid.mp3 or something like that.

Posted by: lovergirl654

like if u were going to go to walmart.com and music and u right clicked on the file u would type .mid at the end of the file and it would automatically be a .mid file...or if u are using your own u click save as and then do the same thing. hope i've helped!

You are a god....I've been trying to figure out how to get ringtones for free. Everytime i cut an mp3 and saved it as a midi file, i was trying to send it to my phone via vzxpix.com. It would not let me upload these files. When i sent it through outlook, it worked like a charm. Thank you sooooooo much dude

On the Audiovox 8910, your advice works great for pics. As for ringtones, I could still use some help because when I try to play it after a perfect download, it says "Pix message could not be played." Is there a format I change mine to that is different than the other phone?

Thanks,

-Josh

not quite sure about that.... try different audio formats i guess

Posted by: cds0301

now, i tried it on another computer, and its not working....when i add the .mid at the end, the file does not change from an mp3 to a midi. It worked on my laptop, but not my pc. Any ideas? One thing that i noticed is that on my laptop, the file name came up with the .mp3 at the end, and i just changed it to .mid. On the pc, the same file doesn't have .mp3 at the end of the name

Make sure to try out all of the audio types to see if they work...the 8910 and 8940 are very similar

Ya know the rubber thing above the flash, on the 8940? If you remove it, there is a plug inside the phone. Does anyone know what that plug is, or what it does?

Wow, some work and some don't! I have 2 out of 6 that work perfectly. 3 say "pix/flix message failed to load" and the last one the screen turns white displays a message so quickly I cannot read it and the phone reboots! any ideas? all were renamed to .mid and were under 30 seconds long.

EDIT when the screen turns white I can read Divide 0 or something similar before it shuts down.

Myabe I should try a diffrent mp3 editor? I have Mp3 surgeon 2004. any suggestions?
