Greets all,
I have done alot of reading on this forum, which helped me alot with how to do things, so first thanx for all the info.
Now my question: about pix for wallpapers
I have this phone, and have used bitpim, QPST, And DataPilot, and prefer QPST, but my question is which I have done searches for also and havent found anything about it is, Can anything other then bmp files be put into this phone into the My media section? I have added files thru bitpim and it gets converted to bmp files, but they also take up room at about 31K or 38K, and as a Jpeg if possible, they would be 3K which is far less room taken up. If not Jpeg, would this phone see any other format? maybe PNG which I read about but forgot where I saw it here and which phone it applied to.
Also I read that this phones native ringtone ext is qcp, could I change the mp3's to this format and save space? And if so what would be a program to convert it? Magix?
Sorry if this sounds like a newbie question, but most of the other questions I have already gotten answers for just by reading the forums.
Thanx,
AngelDeath

jpegs work fine. And as far as ringtones thay are not QCP(purevoice) on this phone. They are actual mp3's or midi file 16 channel tunes. So any edited song from a cd or midi song (tons free for downloading on the net) can be used.

3dmac,
If jpegs work fine in the my media section how come bitpim doesnt use this? (drag and drop), so basically to use these as jpegs, I would in short just add them to the file system in the brew/shared folder? Last question regarding this, I have been using Photoshop to drop the color to 256 and re-saving it, Is there something else other to use, or should photoshop be fine? Cause I still keep getting the memory leak
Thanx for the ringtone answer, glad I asked before I beat my head trying to figure out why it didnt work. mp3's are fine, just wish I could compress it down a bit further then 60-100k. Currently using 16bit 22050Khz for 10 seconds, any ideas?

Well forget the memory leak, ever since making them jpegs, I have no memory leak anymore, instead of taking up 250 to 260 kilobits, now with jpg I take up about 18kilobits (woohoo), now if I could only shrink the mp3's down I would be set.

AD , Why only 10 seconds? Ringers should be on ave. 30sec.
You should be set at 32bit 16000hz for 20-30 sec. Your file sizes will be from 60-148kb. Most people get between 10-30 ringers on depending on sizes. The sound quality is not noticable at 22050hz but are larger files.
I use alot of AC/DC ringers I've made and they sound excellent !!

Well I guess the reason why was cause of worrying of running out of memory, or having memory leaks, and I read here I believe about making them 16bit 22050Khz. I didnt realize that 32bit 160000Khz would work. Since I saw mainly it stating 16Bit @22050Khz. I am not looking to throw in 20 or 30 ringtones, if anything MAYBE half like 10, on top of the ones that are embedded in the phone, if by your specs I can add 10 @ 30 seconds with 32bit @160000Khz then I guess I will be re-doing my tones
Last question would again be what I asked before what would be best to use? Mainly for increasing the volume of the clips, cause making the clips I use nero, but I would like something to increase the volume with a bit more ease, even if it means to use another program to make the clips.
