I also used Nokia Multimedia converter, and I was the one who created differences.

I use audacity to cut the mp3 into a clip, then I use Nokia's tool to convert to amr.

Both pieces of software are free for non-comercial use.

I would check the forums that support the software.

Are you shortening the mp3 beforehand?

Alright, I'm having some trouble here. Every time I upload an AMR file that I created, and try to access it via my phone (Nokia 6255i), the browser gives me the following message: The requested page can not be displayed.

Any ideas?

I use www.3gupload.com there I can upload games, pics, tones; or I can chose from their gallery of games, pics, tones, applications, and other cool stuff. There is a section called "Locker" where you upload your stuff, then go online on the phone to that locker, and download it like that. It was like $6 for a year, and its unlimited, except for music tones, which are about $1 each. I LOVE that site.

When you sign up, you put in your phone type, and when you upload pics, it resizes the pics to fit your phone display, its just really neat.

Here's a couple of mine that I've uploaded to "Inevitable Truth." I'm pretty meticulous whenever I edit my ringtones, so most of the music ones are pretty good quality and loop very well.

Hi - thought some of you may be interested in a little project of mine.

Its a web-based program that generates morse code ringtones from whatever
you type in. It makes poly ringtones that you can download (completely free,
I don't even ask for your email address) via WAP straight off the site or
save to your PC (if you have a cable or bluetooth, you can then upload to

Hey folks. First time posting, I hope someone can help me out.

I tried sending a couple MIDIs to my Nokia 3120, but it says I can't open the files on my phone. They're only about 20k. And my phone does support polyphonic ringtones. It'll let me open the other files in that folder that came with the phone, but not the MIDIs I sent myself.

Any idea why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

Check the series60 ringtone section. There are some great ringtones in there. There's an .aac thread by me with many pages of .aac ringtones, including simple bell style ringers and tons of others. from simple to wild.

There are songs, mp3's, ogg's and even a specific mixed one of the show 24 by Knowledge of howard forums.

You're simply not looking in the right place

Check out the series60 section for ringtones - thats the place to be.

Guys, some advice, i posted my site here a week ago, it had been going fine for 6months.. We lost it a few days back due to complaints.. I hadnt posted the site anywhere else and it wasnt a easy site to find.. So if u wanna post ur site here, a little advice, dont! Cus howard forums being tight on copyright ect, the sites us guys are posting are being looked at by copyright officials and are being shutdown, this thread is a haven to them, all sites compiled together.

Look back a few pages, look at some of the sites, gone, erased, eradicated from existence lol..

Out site only offerered mp3 tonez, and the odd java games, but i know some of ur sites offer more, so beware if uve spent all your hard work on it that it could be deleted if u dont take the necessary precautions and not post it here.

You can download Quick Time for free and edit the MP3. Just open the file, adjust your in and out markers to select the section you want and then copy that section into a new file. Save the new file as an MP3 (you have to export it via File -> Export and then choose movie to MP3...i think) and your done.

If you are on windows I think you may be able do this in Windows Media PLayer as well.

After getting my Nokia 8801 and realizing that it did not have Bee, Bureau, Etude, Low, Mosquito, and Ring Ring ... I went ahead and ripped those my self from my 8890.So here they are including the recently posted Trio in AMR format. The Trio did not convert as well as the others that I self ripped, overall they all sound great on the phone. I chose AMR format since the Nokia defaults to recording in that format. I figure if Nokia defaults to recording in that format then it must be easiest for the phone to play. Hope you enjoy.

Found this site that not only has a ton of free video game and anime soundtrack mp3s, but has a whole section on full length midi files from computer and video (arcade and console) game theme music in midi format, much of which are direct ports of the original game music.

THe best part if you can freely drag and drop mid files into your Sounds folder on your GSM phone, they'll play as ringtones straightaway. Sprint and Verizon users who can directly upload via USB cable or bluetooth this works as well.

Currently i've thrown about another 30 mid files into my sounds folder.
