Is your phone Application Locked? There is an easy way to know the answer, just run Check Lock in your Smart Phone and you will get the answer. But, what really means to you if your phone is Application Locked? That means that you won´t be able to install and run many applications that are unsigned and need access to restricted areas in your phone registry or need to use APIs that are restricted by your service operator. You wont be able to install for example this tool just because it needs to change the settings in your Inbox to give you access to new capabilities.

Well, Tweaks2K2 version 1.3.1 includes a new option that allows users to Application unlock their phones. This hack works in the majority of the phones available in the market but the C500 from Orange which was "Really Locked" by Orange.

I own myself a mpx220 from Cingular and I was surprised to find that my phone was Application Locked and I did not know about it! But not any more!

medenblik: You have to copy the file to your smartphone and run it from there. It is a Windows Mobile application, not a Win32 app.

Hi
I ran the checklock and it said my phone is locked.
But, I was able to install the HTTP program and I haven't had any trouble installing any apps I've tried.
Is there another way or program to use to check the app lock status?
I just checked again(after installing HTTP tool)and now it says the phone is app unlocked???

I removed the HTTP prog, then checked again and now it says the phone is app locked. This is confusing?
I did reinstall the HTTP and checked again and the checktool now says it's unlocked???

well, it seems to me that the author of httpmail could easily includes those registry keys changes in his cab file so when you install his application the phone is unlocked at the same time otherwise his application wont work.

That's what I was thinking too.
I tried the trial Tweaks- but is seems the apps unlock doesn't survive removing HTTP.
I jut left HTTP installed and removed tweaks and it shows unlocked for now.
Interesting huh......
