Aud 8900 help needed newb PLEASE

I read a lot of the threads explaining how the bitpim and brewsky works but my phone and the new cable i got on ebay which gave a curitel driver is not working at all.

-What i have done.
I installed the cd they gave me. Restarted the comp and plugged in the cable.
It asks me to install the driver that came with the hardware and i install it, there are like 3 things it asks me to install and i do it.
Afterwards i get bitpim and set it up
I click on LG-VX8000 (verizon wireless) and then i choose auto detect for com port. afterwards when i try to get info from the phone it says no port detected so i do it manually and use Curitel packet service & Curitel packet service diagnostice serial port, both of them. Both times it either does nothing or gives me an error in a computer programming form.

I really dont know what to do, if someone can give me some steps to follow or a link to another thread that will be really helpful cause i've been stuck with verizon ringtones for about a year now. THANK YOU

PS. I got this error on BitPim, not sure what it means.
