phone will not recharge or connect to the PC

Ok I have something weird going on. My phone will not charge or connect to my PC. I would like to see if I can try anything other then a hard reset. I have not played with any settings. Does anyone know what the problem could be? I have tried so far just turning the phone on an off with no luck.

I suggest two things you should try.

1. Try another charger for your phone, Motorola charges sometimes get bent out of shape so make sure the connectors are nice and straight.

2. Take the battery, miniSD and SIM card out and leave it out for a minute, replace and turn the phone on and let it boot up completly and then try using the charger and or the USB cable.

If none of these work then the CE Bus maybe damaged. If this is the case a hard reset may or may not fix this problem depending if it is a software control problem or a hardware problem.

Crap did all of those and even pulled out the backup battery and nothing. This sucks. I guess I am going to have to go to best buy and see what they can do for me. I wonder how long it will take them to fix it or exchange it.

***Well I had to go to cingular thank goodness. So they are exchanging it out. Problem is that is that it is on backorder. So they are getting a direct ship from Moto on the phone. Right now I have two battiers with with 2 bars left on it so I hope I get the phone before my batties are all dead. I will just have to turn it off a night.

I wonder if I will get the new firmware?

I can tell you this right now, the phone has some kinda hardware defect, i had the same problem with mine, i had taken it into an authorized service center and they tested it out, the tech told me that power is flowing thru the bus but its something with the circuitry board, and the phone would have to be sent in to be fixed. Now I can tell you this, if you've bought the phone from best buys and it has been more than 30 days from purchase, they will not except any type of exchange or refund, thats unless you have some type of inside hook up! 2nd, I've already gone back and forth with cingular about my phone, they cant exchange for another brand phone(thats if you had wanted too) becuz of manufacturers limitations on that department of cingular, all that they can do for now is send you another mpx220, and you will only recieve one as soon as moto sends them cingular, as far as cingular knowing when will they get them in, none of the service reps, or managers knows, so in so many words your kinda screwed like i thought i was lol. The reason i say that is becuz there is light down that tunnel, there is a way of exchanging for another mpx220 thru bestbuys, but the store has to have one in stock for you to get it! I did a little something and was able to excahnge for another working mpx220 with no problems from best buys just a matter of 4 days ago, luckily they had 2 more in stock! Phew! Now i wont exactly give instructions on how i was able to exchange with best buys becuz it didnt exactly follow the rules but i will tell you this......Hint: The IMEI is the key! hope i was of some help!

Well for me they are doing a direct ship from Moto next day air at no charge since they do not have stock. I guess they know Moto has stock. Between two batteries I think I can last though the week I hope.

Well good luck, i hope you do recieve your phone within the time frame of your 2 bars loll, but ive learned that cingular and moto does alot of talking just to calm the consumer down. I highly doubt that they'll send you another one without the upgrade, but if so please keep us updated, thanx!

I had the same problem, a month and a half ago. Phone could not charge could not sync. It's beginning to look like this is a new problem with this phone. I believed I did something wrong to cause this.

Cingular thought I was talking some strange phone language when I tried to explain my situation. Anyways, got it exchanged by Cingular for a new mpx220 and I had bought my phone through Best Buys 11/04. I also, had to wait acouple of days because of backorder.
