Soho questions

Strange experience today at a Verizon company store. I'ts been two years on the contract and I wanted to upgrade my and my wife's phones. I've had good luck with the 2325 so I'm a bit predisposed to Kyo's.

I asked to see the Soho/KX1v and the salesman told me "we have a few of them in the back room under some boxes" and then went on to state that they "didn't like to sell them as they had around a 70% return rate".

I figure that either this guy is my best freind or my worst enemy . Either the phone is a pos or he gets a better commission for seling something else.

So I'm curious. I've searched the postings here and havn't found too many relavant ones. How is this phone? Thanx in advance.

Well there has to be something wrong with what the customers are doing to the phones or there's just a problem with verizon's soho's.Because I've had mine for almost 3 or 4 months through U.S. Cellular and I love it.

I checked at my Verizon WIreless Store about the Soho KX1v a couple days ago. The saleman I had said they had a 1% (NOT 70!) return rate, adn the customers wanted the same model not a different one. He also said that none of the Kyocera phones have a higher than 6% return/exchange rate average over the last 2 years.

Sounds to me like you had a salesman who just didn't like Kyocera, and made up excuses not to sell you one.

I had a Kyocera Slider (or rather, 5 Kyocera Sliders). Yeah, I dunno about the SoHo, but it made me swear off Kyocera. I've talked to salespeople for several companies (Verizon, Western Wireless, and Qwest) and they all say Kyoceras are their worst phones.

I LOVE my Kx1/soho but I am returning it cause it was a lemon. But I am switching for the same Kx1 model. just my 2 cents

My mom says it's the best phone she's ever owned...she has the KX1v and it had a weird problem when she got it, but she returned it and got another SoHo and she loves it. She said the RF is better then her Nokia3589i was. I'd say thas pretty **** good.

The guy probably just wanted you to buy a different/ more expensive phone so he could pocket some cash......get the phone, try it, if you don't like it, return it and get a new phone.

I have had my Soho for over 6 months, and love it. Excellent reception, great sound quality, very good speakerphone.

Also small and light.

What's not to like?

Thanks to all who took the time to give their opinions.

I went to a different Verizon store today and picked up a Koi for me and a Soho for my wife. The Koi is just wierd enough for me and the Soho sure seems to be a very nice, stylish, solid, little phone.

I guess Kyocera is the Rodney Dangerfield of cell phones, they just don't get no respect.
