Another MPX220 defect discoverd!!!

hmm it seems kinda interesting that as i read thru these post, im finding more people with the same problem that i had with my mpx220, the wont charge and sync syndrome! While searching for an authorized service center that would work on my phone, i had ran into someone else that had that same exact problem. It seems not only does these batch of MPX220 have software glitches, but also suffer from hardware defects as well! hopefully there next batch of MPX's will have better quality parts!

It's probably the small contacts on the USB cable... Motorola is notorious for the charging terminal connections, in that the three small metal strips tend to bend over time and use, eventually resulting insufficient contact with the phone terminals. My hunch is that they do this solely to ensure that folks buy a new charger every few months... Everyone I know who has a motorola phone with the same charging style as the MPx220 has this same problem... It's not so much "bug" or hardware deficiency as it a stupid (or smart) hardware engineering design that's likely driven more by accessories sales than proper functioning.

Yeah, but ive tried 3 different moto chargers and 2 different usb's, no luck with either of them, plus i first discovered the problem when my phone was connected to my computer, all of a sudden my active sync connection had stopped, and that when i also discovered that it wasnt charging anymore either! I honeslty beleive its a hardware failure within the phone! if it was accessories, the other plugs would have worked!

Just had the same problem. It is a hardware issue on the phone per Cingular. They are exchanging it out for me with a direct ship from Moto.
