Mail sent to gmail is seriously delayed, wrote to gmail and they replied asking for the following settings.

If anyone knows the answer, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks for your report. To help us investigate the problem you're having sending mail to Gmail users, please respond to this message with the following information:

- Are there any specific error messages from the SMTP logs or in the bounce/delay notification messages indicating a problem sending to Gmail?

- Please perform a DNS MX lookup for gmail.com from the machine with which you are trying to send mail. what are the results, if any?

To perform a DNS MX lookup in Windows, use the command: 'nslookup -query=mx gmail.com'
To perform a DNS MX lookup in Linux/UNIX, use the command: 'host -t mx gmail.com'

- Are you able to Telnet to any/all of the servers listed in the MX record on Port 25? If not, what happens when you try?

To Telnet to servers listed in the MX record on Port 25, use the command: 'telnet gsmtp185.google.com 25' in all platforms. (Replace 'gsmtp185.google.com' with the results from the DNS MX lookup.)

- Are you able to ping any/all of the servers listed in the MX record? If not, what happens when you try?

To ping servers listed in the MX record, use the command: 'ping gsmtp185.google.com' in all platforms. (Replace 'gsmtp185.google.com' with the results from the DNS MX lookup.)

- Is Gmail the only domain to which your server can't send mail? Is the problem persistent?

- Please restart your SMTP server and resend the mail. Was the mail delivered successfully?

If you don't have access to the sending machine, we suggest contacting your Internet Service Provider (ISP) and/or mail administrator. They can provide you with the requested information.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to send us this information -- it will help us investigate the issue further.

my suggestion to you is to just forward it to yourself. it will probably be a lot easier.

Huh?

I sent them the full message header from a sent message.

They want those specific settings, how can i get them?

As Pink said, just forward your Gmail to your Tmail account, instead of using POP3.

There is a way to send thru Tmail and make it appear you are sending via Gmail. I do that on my SK so no one will get my Tmail address. Is this what you want?

You cannot perform those commands Gmail is asking you about on a SK, so you cannot find the results.

I am a mail message from my tmail account to another person's gmail account. Serious delay in mail from tmail to gmail as documented on the hiptop.com message board.

Just trying to see if anyone knows the Danger settings
