1) i also don't have problems with MMS, as long as i'm using the correct operator settings in the websession file.
2) thanks to eyesonly_d we already have a menu option for GPRS auto attach at power on - it's under Office tools -> Engineering -> Phone capabilities -> GPRS auto attach.

lploon: yes, you can now do that, but eyesonly wrote in the changelog: Master Clearing / Master Reset may still have some side effects. Works well enough on my phone at least.

save: you can change the Cust_Start~up.mp3 file from the /a/mobile/audio folder with one of your choice.

im having this strange problem - im not sure what caused it, but perhaps i deleted some needed file..

anyway, when i go to multimedia meniu, all the icons appear fine.. but when i move cursor, the icon which was selected disappears..

then the next one disappears, and so on..

if i go out and back, they appear again.. this happens with all skins..

any ideas? :/

Solution is very simle. turn of Animation in your Inital Setup menu

when it works, and that is very rare, it produces a flashy effect when clicking on icons and confirming some actions while browsing your phone. And afcorse, ilast, but not least, it eats up you icons (very bad side effect)

I think Animation option won't work correctly in E398. or maybe the alternate skins we use do work correctly with animation turned on. I think it should be turned off or removed in next coming MP. Not worth anything thou

Anybody have tried V3 with latest E398's re/flash file? Dont tell me about the menu speed. Overheard about it. Wanna hear about the pic quality, the sound quality, the bugs they have been fixed and stuff. Menu speed should be less compare to it's main functionality - "Multimedia phone" (correct me if im wrong

About losing the messages, i don't have the problem too. many times i plug out the battery still have the messages intact. Try play around with this seem

SEEM 0032_0001

offset 40 - bit 6: SMS storage (0 for phone, 1 for SIM).

Good luck. Remember to restart your phone after modding it.

I used my back-up websessions. i can browse my carrier site and i can receive mms but i cant send mms.
im sure i have the correct settings. what d hell is wrong w/ my phone?!??!!?!?!?!

is there a way to LOCK the delete option in outbox sub-menu. Like when you try to delete messages
you`ll b ask to input the lock code. Like in "Lock application". :evileye:

i once had that prob... ask globe/smart to email you the procedure... it has something to do with the step-y-step config of your gprs-then-msg-setup-then-mms set-up thing... kailangan sunod sunod yun... i cant email you the procedure since i don't have outgoing mail in the office... better yet, you ask frmo globe oprtr... and just make sure... you have enough (neer went below 25Php) prepaid credits (not psaload) for the past 24Hrs...

Try adjusting Band, Type and Speed under Network Setup. You should try scanning your cell network too. Else, try disabling 850 network using this seem edit: - Seem 0025_0001: uncheck/disable/untick bit 1 and 2 at offset 00 ( 900/1800 and 1900 bands only )

Attribute 4 is system file attribute which it wont be deleted if you do Master Clear. If you used P2KMan, select the file and click on System File then press button Change attribute.

I really do not need that. My original phone did not have it nor does any phone i have used. I have to manually remove it everytime. Will MP4 fix this. Or is there a seem edit to change this behavious.

There is a seem edit to fix this behavior. I ran into it a couple of days ago while trying to find the camera length edit, unfortunately I don't have my notes in front of me. However a good place to look at is Xlr8's site or in the seem32 function editor in P2kAdvance. <THINKING TO SELF>Hrm, maybe this post doesn't help very much after all. does anyone have problems accessing GPRS?
i'm using Cingular, and am trying to access MEdia Net...
i put in all the proper settings (obtained from Cinglar.com and Cingular Customer Support).

but everytime i try to access the web, it goes through the progress bar, and ends with a "GPRS Network not available"

does anybody know how to fix this?

This flash does not lock you to any service. Also all major seem edits are done so not much modding required. Njoy!

Flashed my E398 with eyesonly's V398 MP v4. Worked fine initially but since i normally turn off phone at night, noticed that white screen appear when power on in the morning. Worried but after a few tries + removing battery, managed to get the Moto screen displayed and working fine. Then for safety precaution, i proceed to power on and off a few times in between and everything's A-ok. Ignored it but on this fine day, it decided to just show me the dreaded white screen. Keypad works fine, eventlights are blinking, can hear sound (it even has startup sound when i enter my PIN - presumably it went to prompt for PIN page). But just a blank, white display..

Decided to flash with another MP (95R_A/GSKE398T673BZ100) using MFF but no bootloader screen displayed except for white screen. MFF say Flash Successful. But white screen problem persist when power on. Found errors in error log:

reading the thread might have cleared that up for you. or a quick search...

make sure that the "override existing phone software even if it is newer..." box is checked. the other 3 boxes below should be unchecked.

also, "enable flash" - checked, "enable flex" - unchecked.

i flashed it succesfully works great but the only problem im having is reception problems im not able to make a phone call it always says call failed and im not able to receive phone calls even though my reception is full and then it just drops when im driving or jsut outside anyone know whyy ???

After expending EYESONLY's mosterspack, I saw 8 files. Which one of these is the language pack? I have the LP0014 file. I know that I will also need to edit the checksum and address information in file number 0. Has anyone does this before?

I've only seen language 0014, 0015, and 0016 for firmware 95R (not 95R_A which is in the V398 pack) as standalone reflashes. Go over to mobile-files.com and look for these:

R372_G_0E.20.95R_lang0014_reflash.shx.rar
R372_G_0E.20.95R_lang0015_reflash.shx.rar
R372_G_0E.20.95R_lang0016_reflash.shx.rar

There is also one known monster pack of 95R_A that has 0015 that you could look for:

No, I don't have these to give you before you ask.

After following EYESONLY's document on making SHX files, I was able to build a 0014 (Complex Chinese) language pack. The pack flashes just fine. However, I did discover one possible bug or configuration issue. When I am in Chinese mode, the phone would pause indefinitely when I go into phone book with "Please Wait" message on the screen. It doesn't have this problem in Automatic or English mode.

Any idea?

You use those for E398. I don't know if a V3 LP works on E398.

V3 language pack does work on E398 for the most part. The exception I found was Chinese Complex 0014 and 0016 does break the phonebook.

Frist of all...I thought GIKE with 99R was good...but when I took up the risk by flashing with V398...all I can say thank lord there is a genius among us. And also a special thanks to eyesonly.

Now for my issues.

i) How do I extract the skin inXenonAB from v398 and put in another e398 which I intend to keep the original flash & flex.

ii) How do I change the date and time in inXenonAB to be at top center (the same as Techno in v398)

iii) This issue I would really like if someone could help me out. The backlight I have choose as 20seconds but each time power down power up (usually happens when the battery emptied) it will go back to 60 secs. Any way to force it to stay at 20secs?

iv) Now you would ask me why u wait till ur battery runs out...well the thing is that I am heavy user of the GPRS, so my problem is the backlight will be on for quite long time....I can finish up using my fully charge battery less than 16hrs....so the next issue is when using GPRS and staying idle at one site...the backlight will be on for quite some time...I think a min or more...is there no way to make it go off like 20-30secs?

v) How to remove the 3 square button beside the strength indicator. I already tried the engineering->Phone Capabilities-> Gp Auto Attach-> set to on but the icon is still there.

vi) How to remove the red line at the right end (you can see it when you browse through your phone book.

vii) Why don't you remove all the Web Sessions. I mean like for ppl from another country, this web sessions are not required.

Ok now for a general question which puzzles me....if this phone can play stereo music, why can't it play stereo video? why we have to stick with the AMR-NB mono stuff. I always show off the mp3 capabilities when comparing my friends nokia phones...but for videos I dare not...since I think videos are a bit choppy playing on e398...even though with v398...but I do wish can play video with stereo support...e1000 perhaps???

Yeah i got it working finally! on mirror number 2...it was the security settings in my firewall. Now all i have to do it work out how to get it onto my bloody phone! Any help from step 1 to end would be greatly appriciated

I think my problem is that i dont have Product Support Tools...mainly because i have searched from one side of the internet to the other and cant find a download for it. grrrr. If someone could tell me just exactly what to search for that would be great

I just flashed my phone with Eyesonly's Custom V398 Monster Pack, great job much better than the stock software. One thing though, before the flah when I hooked my phone up to my computer with the USB cable, Windows would show me a new drive letter so I could navigate through the transflash card but now when I hook it up I doesnt recognize it. The speed wasn't great, but now I have to remove the card to read and write directly to it with the SD adapter. I know I'm gonna end up breaking it, it;s way to fragile to be going in and out of my phone all the time Any suggestions?

1. try formatting the card from the phone menu and see if it works.

2. use Mobile Phone Tools to access the card and copy on it. the program will be able to access the card even though you can not see it as a drive.

ive got 1 problem with v398 v4... ive flashed my phone by eye's v398 and have long been using this for the past few weeks... however, just recently, after removing battery to clean my phone, all messages from my INBOX were deleted including the locked messages... ichecked it out using benzol's and checked phone memory to store msgs and yet my sms were lost after removing battery...

Mine have this problem too.. i've made a seem edit to store sms in the SIm card. By this way your sms wont gone after you remove the battery. Work for me

no, it doesn't, don't even think about it.
the only firmware that works on e398 is R372.

We understand you are unable to access .TK websites. This issue is a known issue with .TK websites. The host of these sites only accepts requests from a specific IP range of Road Runner customers. In order for their sites to be accessed on the Road Runner network, they must be configured to accept more requests. Unfortunately, this is not something Road Runner will be able to resolve as it is an issue with the actual server that is hosting these sites. Essentially, although they do accept some requests from Road Runner customers, whether you will be able to access the site or not is a Lottery. If you wish to have this issue resolved, you will have to contact the dot.tk host directly.

of course it will be erased when you flash the phone so if you did not backed up the entries, there's no way you can find it.

im talking about the phone book listing...

like i have all of my contacts there, but i used to have it set out so that it would display the name with teh number below it, but now it just displays a list of names, and i cant find out how to change it...

Another thanks to eyesonly and the guys who contributed to the great V398 MP. Just flashed my phone and I'm totally satified with it, like most of the members who tried this v398 flash. I've also made some seem editing for personal preferences...

I just have one question that somebody might know the answer. Before I flashing, I backed up first the contents of the phone using p2ktools, every single file within the main directory and it's subdirectories. The reason is that I want to put back the sms stored in the phone before I flashed it. Does anyone know the file I can copy back to the phone to achieve this?

Hey!
I just flashed my e398 with this Monster Pack, and everything worked great. Thanks a lot Eyesonly for making it so **** easy! Now, the only problem is this:

Before flashing it, I was able to sync to my Mac using iSync over Bluetooth. I could sync Contacts AND Calendars. Now I have lost all iSync capability. I can connect to my computer via BT, but iSync doesn't work with it. Is there any way around this? I really want to have iSync over BT but I also want VoiceRecord and all the other spiffy features of V398!!!

Also, is there something I have to change to make my phone see the Cingular network? I am in NY, and it always connects to AT&T Wireless. I guess they're the same company so it shouldn't matter, but still... Any thoughts?

i have a network issue like that, but mine always connects to Cingular, when i am a Tmobile user, and as far as network priority, the first 20 of em are tmobile and it ends up on #22 - cingular wireless..... been that way ever since i got the e398 outta the box... and my tmobile bill is still the same, no roaming or anything.

has anyone had problems after the flash where they lose all functionality of the [END] button? I can not end calls myself, I cannot turn my phone off or on, I cannot hang up on voicemail EVER, and I cannot exit to the desktop with one-hit from any menu! I have to back out with the softkeys to go back/back/exit to the desktop.

I don't have that problem, but u should redownload it, and reflash your phone with the copy you just downloaded. If this doesnt work one of the gurus will help you out with a seem edit, if the button doesnt have an issue.

thanks for the response... it was sort of noob sounding the way i put it. i pretty much knew all i could do is reflash it and try again, but i was seeing if anyone else has had this.

no worries... i was not offended, but i really appreciate you caring about my problem...

i was looking into how to perform the flash last night, but havent done it yet.
I have to download all the appz still... since the flash was performed on my phone by a friend with his laptop on the first go... i'm on my own this time.

So, anyone have any idea why I wouldn't be able to use iSync anymore after flashing with V398? I hope it's not a stupid question, but I searched around quite a bit and couldn't find any reference to iSync and this Monster Pack. Any ideas would be appreciated. Can I flash back to an earlier one that will work with iSync? (It worked perfectly with iSync before I flashed, so I assume that it's not working now because iSync no longer recognizes my phone as a model it supports)

Hi there,
Can somebody using the eyesonly's v398 monster post the original seems 0032_0001; 005b_0001; the plmn_text_table.bin and mma_ucp... and even other seems. now i am experimenting with a new software on my phone and i upgraded from v398 to 9cr and GSKE398T674TL107 but i forgot to backup the customizations of the v398. so now i'll have to do them on my own or save up that time if some helpful guy posts that seems and other stuff for me.

yup, before i had 2 options, one to save my messages over my SIM and the second over my phone... problem with saving your messages over sim usually depends on your SIM capacity... which idont think for me is enough...

before I've upgraded to Eye's v398 v4, i store my SMS in my phone's memory but messages stays there even if i have removed the battery...

Im having a few problems since ive flashed this. Even though ive had flash succesful once its been programmed.

The phone will not swtich on but always goes to bootloader straight away.

Yes, I can confirm there is a probem with the keypad lights in MP V4. I just took apart my phone and indeed there is a light sensor but it's not functioning properly. I made some experiments and figured out it's a software problem, the lights are working fine with other firmware.

I flashed the V4 Monsterpack and it worked like a charm. Well, close to a charm I guess. I live in Germany with T-Mobile Germany as a provider. Problem is, my phone will not connect nor find _any_ networks since I flashed the phone. I tried to add "T-Mobile D" to the custom networks list, did not work either.

I also tried setting the phone to different bandwidths (you know.. 850 and stuff) but that didn't help.
I'm sorry if that problem already been solved on one of the 40 pages before, I could not find a solution to my problem. *sniff*

download all the skin files from the skin you are using, use motoskin to open the ski file, set the opacity for "Date text" to 0, set the desired color, use "outline count" if you want to...

you can also change the coordinates on the screen.

it seems that the flashing was not succesful, you still have the old s/w version. try reflashing the monsterpack.

one year too scared to flash n today i got bored so i was like what the hell, lol if it didnt work my mom woulda killed me for wasting 270 for the phone, bought it a year ago, got it 34R, lol i flashed it w/ the v4 monster pack and its looking nice =D its like playing with a new phone for the first time, gotta do some minor tweaks here and there not that bad though =), whats the USB connectiong thing? connections >> usb? I read about it when one of the flashes had it but I never cared to follow it since I wasn't going to flash.

I changed seem 01a8_0001 and removed the gprs n date and uploaded yet the date still shows?

So far this is the best MP I have ever tested. But one big problem I have is I can't send txt or make any calls. They all get dropped. I get full bars and stuff on reception, even checked FTS and I'm getting 76-80db. I am on rogers, and one of my tests is to call my voicemail, which is dialing my own number. I have never been successful completing a call since the flash yesterday. Yeah its nice and stuff, but a phone is nothing when you can't get call or receive calls, same with txts.

Does anybody know a remedy for this? I know the 850mhz is on by default, could this be the culprit? If so, any instructions on where to edit this out and have just 1900? I don't think mine is one of those rare quadband e398's, as long as I can receive and send calls.

There might me the possibility, that outgoing calls are blocked. Look into your security menu, call barring or something like that.

Nope I have tried that, I do get calls sometimes, but gets dropped. 1 out of 10 calls, I get or make only 1. Same goes with text msg. Does anybody know the number to dial to check voicemail? I know you can dial your own number, but there is another number its a 416er.

Phone is useless if I can't make or receive calls and txts

I've already done a flex backup of my E398 99R firmware using Motokit 1.06. Lets say I flashed to v398 v.4 MP and I want to reflash back to 99R is it fine..

I did not seem edit anything, just used P2Ktools to disable all the IM stuff cuz I dont use that stuff.

Yeah, your MainMenu has to have 9 Items to be shown in full Icon View.

Yeah I had to enable at least one of the IM's to get back the icon menu.

But looks like I have to revert back to my old flash. I can never make or receive calls nomore. I missed over 30 calls this past weekend, and they were pretty important. All my calls get dropped and all my texts get can not send. But sooner or later (6-8 hours later) the texts go through.

Does anybody have a link to the 96Ra flash I think thats what it was.

I already tried to seem edit the 850mhz option, and that was worse I got no reception at all.

So please anybody with the link to the reflash for 96Ra, thanks.

make sure you have the drivers installed and make sure that you have the connection set to "data/fax" (not memory card) under connection menu in settings.

1)Now, i don't seem to have the option for sms in phone, or sim... it is only sim i believe? looked through all the menu's in the msgs section. what am i missing

2)any chance of an auto-keylock in the next version?

3)also, when i press menu. by default, it goes to the middle icon. on one of the skins from before, it started default on the top left. i'm used to that..is it possible to get that back via a seem edit or someting?

4) The voice record is really handy, but is there a way to make it playback, via speakerphone? instead of just softly?

another thing, that would be very hadny and likely easy to implement...is the ability to have a shortcut to the flash.

I use it as a flashlight sometimes, and it'd be really easy to just press "menu+5" for example, to light up...instead of pressing camera...waiting for it to laod, and then goin through the menu.

as far as I remember from older threads, the battery save option has something to do with the earpiece volume... a search here on HoFo might clear that up for you.

as for the sms storage, i don't think that you can put a entry in the menu; you might try though using p2kmenueditor...

wutupscott - make sure you have the drivers properly installed; as a last resort, try unistalling PST and the drivers for motorola and then reinstall the program.

nope, it says shortcut can't be assigned for this item :S

it'd b very handy imo... some nokia's have it , so that if u hold down star, the torch lights up.

shoudl be easily accessible imo

My computer wont connect to my phone - I started having when I upgraded my computer from xp home to xp pro. To try to fix this, I removed all three programs (MPT, PST & P2KTools), and uninstalled the phone from Device Manager and also removed it from Modems.

Then I have installed in the following order, MPT, PST, & P2KTools; I connected the USB cable to the phone and then to the computer - It finds the phone, installs the drivers - The phone connects in MPT and in 'AT Mode' on P2KTools. The phone doesn't connect in 'P2K Mode' and in PST. I tried a V300 on my computer and that works fine - fully connects/flashes and works in MPT, PST, & P2KTools.

When I connect the E398 (after installed as a modem) I open P2Ktools, and it shows the install hardware icon and fails to install some driver - When I go to Device Manager, I see some driver has not been installed properly and it gives me "USB Composite Device"

I tried to replace the 'usber.sys' file as mentioned in some guide, but that didnt help. Anyone got any help they can give me?

V4 is a great monsterpack. However, here are the issues I found:

1. I seems to lose all my picture & voice Name configuration in phonebook from time to time. I can't narrow down what triggers it but taking out the battery doesn't make it happen.

2. After flashing with Complex Chinese language pack, the phone hangs in "Please wait" mode when I try to go into phonebook in Chinese mode.

In another thread, it looks like canadian users are having problems connecting to Rogers or Fido with the v398 mp.

Can anyone confirm this? Today I got -42db while driving to work using the country roads. But I still couldn't make a call.

problem with the search function here is, that if i type in sp2 , or even service pack 2.. it wil tell me the THREAD that it is mentiond.

unfortunately, these threads are 50 pages each, which is a real hassle to look through to find this tiny bit of info!

when i start the mp3 player program...it says..LOADING...after that it says UPDATING MUSIC DIRECTORY.. the program stands there forever. not moving to the next level..

what should be the problem?

the mp3 player is not so good, there are some bugs, it searches for audio files on both phone and card. use the default sound player, it's much better. you can make playlists, minimize it and it takes almost no time for loading.

IMO it will not be any time soon, cause the v4 is very good so far. and i believe that eyesonly is on vacation at the moment...

Do i need a driver after enabled the USB Memory Card settings?

coz i plugged the 398 in my friend machine.. its asked for the driver.

what do i do for that?

I don't think u need driver. I've tried it on my PC which I never installed any PST or motorola stuffs.. It works right away... Detect as removeable drive.... WinXP

if you want to access the memory card then you don't need a driver, just plug the cable while the usb setting is set to "memory card" and you should be able to access it either through MPT or see it as a separate drive.

if you want to acces the phone through PST or p2k programs then you have to install the drivers that came with these programs.

I can't test it because I don't have one, but I think somebody here on HoFo posted you need to format the card through the phone menu after installing it. Better search the forums...

the mp3 are in the TF, but once i place the TF inside the phone, the mp3s cannot be detected.

Hi All,

I can make calls sometimes now, it is weird. Someone have the mod to disable 850 support? I tried the Xlr8 guide, the "50" offset isn't really clear to me. Or can someone just post the seems with the edits done. This is the only seem edit that I can't get working, I get no reception when I do this mod.

This V398 stuff stored almost 80 sms's... i removed the sim card to copy the address books from my old sim. after changed the sim..the SMS which i had in the mobile is gone. only it showed me 22 SMS's which was stored in SIM.

???

Anytime you put new sim card in your phone it will erase all sms stored in phone memory. Sony ericcson phones have that problem too. You can change sms storage to sim or like it happened you ll loose sms if u change sim.

I have two issues.. i think the battery back seems to be less that what i had before.

My headphone doestwork with phone . I can listen to songs but i can't pick up calls using it. Any Idea.

What is TTY setup in the settings? What is that used for?

Next one; What is mobile QQ is for?

I flashed my phone with the new V4.

When i start my phone the ''intro sound'' is too long, the sound is still playing when everything is loaded, is that normal ?

When i shutdown my phone the ''shutdown sound'' cant play till the end, i hear it 2 seconds and then my phone is off ??

Am i the only one with this ''sound problem''?

I Found Another thing on my phone when i go to the personal settings and presh screen saver, nothing happens i just goes 1 menu back ?

for the menu speed and overall performance, both monsterpacks are about on the same level. some people say that the 9CR MP is a bit faster, but the problem is that you will have to seem edit to have all the extra options that you get as default on the V398 MP. so if you have no or little experience in seem editing and file management, stick with the V398.

i also ended up seem editing a few things to make it more personal on my v398. also the skins i changed three out of the six that were included. so aside from moto, invXenonAB, and light blue, i have included on my phone motomodders 1.0, blu 3.0, and nviadia. obviously changing the wp and ss to some more that i thinks matches..

i think you have deleted some images and sounds... and not in the correct manner, too.

i you have backed up the files, you're lucky. just put them back where they where, then go read how to safely delete sounds/pics and then proceed to deleting.

if you don't have a backup, search how to fix your phone, there are a few threads on this subject, and there is more than one solution.

Yes, the same problem here...that's vhy i've just deleted it.
Plus i had no receipt function when sending an sms . Is it possible fix these little problems by seem editing?

The reciept function can be enabled with P2Ktools........But unicode in SMS so that i i am not debited the cost of an SMS every 70characters,but every 160,cannot be disabled with p2k...You said u have deleted the upgrade ?how? you installed again the older version?Where did u find it ?

I reFlashed an reFlexed it...now i use 20.95r and 7F flex. I know it's not the best/fastest available but does the trick...

For flashes and flexes i went to www.fedupnow.com 's download menu.

Hey all, I have Cingular service on an E398 that I just updated the firmware to v4 MP, and it is happy making except that I can't make or receive calls when I am connected to what used to be the AT&T networks.

However, if I go to Network under Settings and Available Networks, I see both AT&T & T-Mobile networks, and if I connect to the T-Mobile network, it works fine.. :-\
(though it does sometimes swap back to the AT&T network after a few minutes)

looks like its trying to connect to the 850mhz towers. Same thing happened to me I couldnt receive or make calls or txts. If I was lucky to connect to 1900 that was my chance to make a call or send txt. I am now using 9CR which works fine for me as I am with Rogers in Canada.

I flashed my e398 with the MP this week-end. And I am very impressed to say the least

I do however have a few things I'd like clear up.

Where do I find the lang pack 002c (Danish) ?
And how do I get it on the phone ?

I have not been able to find this information - hope I have not just missed it.

Is it possible to get rid of any unnessecary web sessions on the phone ?
I have a backup of my original setup, is it possible to transfer the iTAP userfiles to the MP - if so what files should I be looking for ?

i am having a similar problem ("Emergency Only") with the V4 MP, but after flashing 9CR, the problem STILL REMAINS.

can anyone shed any light on this?

set the network to automatic.
i think its flex thing so its still the same problem after 9CR..

yeah try a different flex. I just went from V398 to 9CR and it was fine for me. But do check your flex version if it did get changed with a previous MP for flex that did not work. I reflashed my phones a bunch of times with different packages, but always upgrading not downgrading. So far I am satisfied with my setup. Just need to get engineering back.

the LP 002C - use google, or search on one of these addresses:

the LP must be flashed using MFF the same way you flash a MP or a reflash.

the websessions are stored in the "WebSessions" file in the /a/ folder. you can delete it or edit it.

i don't think that the itap files can be transfered... you have to have the language installed in order to have the itap for that language... (i'm mostly guessing on this one since i don't really know the answer

neo, what's your flex, and where did you download it from?

both flexes i've tried (one GIKE and one GSKE) both crap out (either ERROR in MFF or crash in pFlex) and won't go on the phone. afterwards (and before for that matter) i can flash with 9CR no problems.

I posted a few weeks ago about the V398 MP causing my phone's END/PWR button to stop working. Since then, I've tried to flash it again with the MP, but I'm not having any luck with the programs i've tried so far.

I was using the V600 Flash/Flex instructions to guide me through it all:
- I used PST to install all the drivers
- I tried to use MFF to transfer MP but MFF would not connect, noting some error. (If i was at home i'd fill in more details of the error. Sorry.)
- I then searched HOFO and heard that RSD_lite works well with very little hassle, so after finding that program, downloading, and installing I tried to run IT, and when I attempted my flash of the MP the phone would go into the Boot Loader mode and would fail after a long few minutes due to a error relating to a "connection interface error". The Status of the flash never got above 0%.

A problem I am forseeing with flashing my phone again is that without the PWR button functioning... there was a point while using RSD_lite that it said "Now manually turn on your phone." and the only way I could get my phone to start on command like that is to remove and replace the battery, which makes it autostart. Would this cause the flash to fail because im taking out the battery?

Any help in concerns to flashing this, and making sure it's successful, would be greatly appreciated. I will post up in more detail later.

with the help of Neo519 and ya_saya, i've been trying a couple things. between MFF and RSD Lite 1.5.1 (both softwares could not flash all the flashes, for example, 9CR fails with RSD Lite) i've tried both GIKE and GSKE flexes, and 95_A, 9CR and V398_V4MP. none of them are able to make/receive calls.

nowadays i'm only getting "call failed", but that could be because i haven't been waiting long enough for it to switch to "emergency only".

i'm out of ideas, and would appreciate any fresh ideas. would inputting GPRS settings help any?
