hi there! I'm a new viewer to the boards and i have a question about the ngage. has anyone tried pairing the phone with a zire 72 useing bluetooth to either transfer files or as a 'modem' to get online? (useing a browser on the pda instead of on the phone) im looking for a phone, and i see tmoble currently has it available for a low price.

i dont have a zire - but i do have an axim x50v that ive paired with my qd

basically - you have to make sure that you set up the proxy on your ngage - go to the advanced settings option in the gprs settings - put in "216.155.165.050" as the proxy ip address - and use "8080" as the port number

then activate bt on both devices - the passcodes are going to be set at "0000" as a default - just go through the settings to make a connection and use "*99#" as the dial string for your zire to make

thats it - i can get online - browse sites - check email - and even use skype with no problems - pretty wicked actually!

Skype works too? That's really cool!! ****, how much is GPRS for you? In toronto it's so expensive!! BTW, I have the N-gage and X50v combo too!!

Skype im works but the voip won't work over gprs as it's too slow...

i use skype voip on x50v whenever I find a wireless network, it's fast!! But drains the battery like crazy!!

i think that depends on the device you are using to connect - i use skype voip all the time via gprs - i have a samsung d500 though, and it has class 10 gprs - i havent tried it yet with the ngage - but i havent had any problems getting voip just tethering to my d500 through bt...
