directly to an email address if it is in one of your contacts?
In other words, in my contacts for some, I have their email
address but I haven't found a way to simply select it when I want
to send something. It seems crazy to have to type it in???

yes you can.

go to menu and use right arrow to get to messaging
highlight new PIX MSG
hit OK
push add (in lower left)
highlight contacts and push ok
highlight the contact you want to use and use the right arrow until you see the email address
hit OK and a little red check should appear in the box to the left of the email address
hit done
that should take you back to the screen where you started but you should now have an email address in the to box

glad I could help - it took me a little while the first time I did it also. It made no sense that you couldn't do it.so. . .
