Inno 55 Help needed! plz

Hey everyone..so i just recently bought an Inno 55.its operational. but my problem with it is, it wont make any calls nor receive them?!?! ive tried putting my friends sim ( whos with another carrier) thinking it was my network, but it doesnt work either... ive tried resetting it and sitll nothing....can someone help me please.

can you give more details? What networks are you using, where are you located and what kind of messages is the phone giving you when you try and make calls?

okay.... i live in alberta,canada.. and im on the fido(mircocell) network. i put in the sim card and turn on the phone..on the screen of the it saysing searching for a few minutes and then it swtiches to mircocell and normally on my old phone (inno 90).. it works... but on this phone im not able to make or receive calls. and eventually mircocell dissappears and emergency only pops on the screen. still not being able to make any calls.

oh and im just wondering. the intro and outro on my phone has a little anime animation of a guy and a girl riding a harley type of motorbike is this the default??? cuz my inno 90 just had an plain innostream graphic intro/outro.

I have the same phone.

It worked right out of the box. I live in Calgary as well. For some reason, my time update doesn't work. I have to manually set it. On other networks like Rogers or any in the states, it works.

Have you tried the settings?

Also, when I start my phone, it doesn't say Microcell, it says fido.

Did you ever figure out how to correct your phone from the emergency only mode??

Hey guys my phone still doesnt work...it wont get of of the "emergency only" mode ..
benyl...yours doesnt say mircocell?! how weird...what is the start up of your phone like...is is like what i describe? ( a short animation?) doesn anyone have a reset code other than the 888*888#(engineer mode?) my phone is useless right now plz help

Hi all,

I emailed innostream regarding my inno55 locking up and saying "Emergency only." See below our conversation. I'll post any new updates and if it worked once I try it on Saturday.

This reset command will work on all Innostream handsets. I cant promise it will "fix" it right off the bat, but lets start there. If it doesn't work, please email me the IMEI number and FCC ID on the rear label of the handset.--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Will this work on my inno55? And is this problem common? And will this fix it?

You can perform a "master reset" but before doing so , please keep in mind that this function will completely reset the handset back to manufacturer defaults i.e............will erase any saved pictures, ringer tones etc that have been saved into the units memory.


1) Remove the battery and SIM card from the handset. Allow the unit to sit without the battery for approximately one minute

2) Re-attach a fully charged battery to the handset.

3) To proceed with the "Master Reset Function" press the following sequence into the keypad:

*741*737381#

4) The display will now display "please wait" while the process is being initiated, then "DONE" when the process has completed itself.

5) The unit will then power down all by itself. Reinsert SIM card and re-attach battery. You handset should now be functional again.

Hi,

My Inno55 locked up 2 weeks ago. It now say Emergency Only. I can't dial out anymore. I have T-mobile and I had the phone for only 6 months and everything worked fine. A friend of mine also has the same problem. This happened all of a sudden.

What can I do to fix this problem? When I use the sim card on another phone it works fine, so there isn't anything wrong with my sim card.

well,

i just tried doing the master reset thing from the email.. and my phone still does not work. so any glimmmer of hope seems to be fading fast...thenjman..thanks for posting any info that you get... i will continue to search for a solution and will post anything i find as well.....
did you get yours working again?!?

It didn't work. I emailed innousa and they responded:

I'm sorry to inform you, but the unit you purchased was intended for sale and purchase in Asia. This unit has NO manufacturers warranty in the United States. The only options at this point are to return the unit back to the original place of purchase or send the unit back to Innostream Korea for repair. What happened here is the vendor that sold you the handset purchased units from non-authorized distributors that import units from Asia because of the difference in cost. Units sold in Asia are NOT approved for sale and distribution in the United States because they are NOT FCC approved and are "generic" and are not preloaded with T-mobile network configurations. What I mean by "generic" is they are not profiled with the proper software to interface with T-mobile so that explains some of the difficulty you have been experiencing.

u guys can forget about getting it to work unless someone have the right software upgrade for the phone(that is what i heard from people in HK). All i know is that this phone is really not reliable at all, i bought 3 of these phone and none of it work for me. the first one is like what happened to you guys, that phone will work fine in HK and not working at all with rogers, fido or anything, the second phone just shuts itself down... and the third phone , the battery is dying after purchased for just 2 week?!! throw it out (like i did) and buy something with a more reputable name. IMO

i restart the phone and it work, i use fido network, for the fisrt 2 dyas it works fine, then it happened, seaching .... microcell then emergency.....

but after i reset it with the codes provided on the e-mail above, it worked, but thing is, it is not stuck with rogers, no more fido, since i am a fido subscriber

even when the time it dont work, i change to a roger sim card, and it works perfect, i think is fido that is the problem with the inno


as of firmware upgrade, can anyone confirm if this will solve the problem for microcell problem? and if so anyone know where it can be done in GTA area, too lazy to check pmall or fmp.

but on rogers, i can dial out no problem, but the thing is, sometimes the call jsut drops and have to recall like crazy to get it working, but on rogers network the phone works fine

so i guess is the firmware problem.

i had another inno from taiwan, and it worked with fido 100%
and i check both the firmware and they are different, so i guess the taiwan firmware will work
but the thing is, how to upload the firmware from the taiwan to my other inno?

is there anyone that can do upgrade on the inno?
is there such a firmware update can anyone please confirm

i am in GTA area.

I haven’t read everything carefully, but I don’t know are you aware of the fact that US GSM band standard is different than one used in rest of the world. I don’t know where from have you bought the phone, because if it is designated for Asian or Europe market it is 3band phone and 3 bands are 900/1800/1900, one you need should be working on 850/1900/1800 MHz .

You can see that there is overlap at 1900 and 1800MHz, but base stations working on that frequencies aren’t that common, they are usually used in cities where traffic is dense.

If this is t hecase, there is no software solution, only thing you could do is to change transiver (transmitter/receiver), but as this isn’t too much popular phone, I don’t know how much easy will be to find someone who will do it.

the fact that it says rogers instead of fido or microcell is normal, it is because of the network integration! at the end of the inegration it will say fido.

no,

i e-mail inno and they say it is software problem
the older firmware causes conflict with fido, therefore only if u manually switch it to rogers then it work

now my inno has a newer firmware and it work 100% with fido/rogers !!

sounds like ur IMEI is messed up or is on the ban list, i remember my cousin had a Samsung V205 with basically teh identical problem ur describling when used with fido (even know its unlocked), seems to work on rogers for some reason though.

my friend i have a siemens m55 siemens sl55 siemens cf63, sony ericsson t610 and an inno 90 and inno 55 all only have rogers as a provider no fido and all phones are fido, i dont know which area u r in but in the gta u can only get 1 network!
how new is the firmware like what date? where did u get it?
