The 902SH/902T Decision

I'm happy about the 902SH being unlocked by Jerry and all, but now with this release of the 902T, it gets me wondering.

I *would* love to have a 902T - I like the look of it and all, while I know others don't, for example, the hinge.

I'm just guessing that with the length of time it took for a successful unlock of the 902SH, it would be a long time to unlock the 902T as well.

Now, who knows how Toshiba/Sharp design/lock their phones. So it could be days, it could be months.

I haven't followed many Toshiba phones before. Does anyone know if there have been many in the past that have been unlocked easily?

Yes, this is mostly related to the 902T, so this may get moved. But I'd like to know which phone people prefer, as well as a little info. That, and, the Other Manufacturer forums is a lot less active than the Sharp one.

EDIT: Also, just checked Voda's website to have another look, and I gotta say I love that "Active Turn Style"

Good news my friend. The Toshiba TS 921 is the European version of the 902T. Both will released around the same time.

just a lil bit worried about the camera: nu-maicovicon
technoloogy by panasonic, performance is between CCD and CMOS

(so far the phones in jpn with nu-maicovicon image qualities are really betwen CCD abnd CMOS)

but, the lense might help (look at nokia's N90 sample pics, the magic of carl zeiss and CMOS)

I think the more appropriate question is when is this phone going to be released?? It's already missed its release date in Japan without any comment from Vodafone Japan, and soon Vodafone's new lineup is going to get announced (which reportedly includes a 903T!), so they're really running late with this phone...

I don't know whether there is any unlocking service over in europe or the us, but in hong kong, this phone has been out a long time ago, it seems that hong kong has giving up on the 902t, in hong kong recently they spent most of there time for the 903sh, and that the toshiba model will not be official released in hk, so no chinese display will be available, so it will not be popular over in hk, this is the same example for the 802sh.

I don't think the 902T can be unlocked yet.
Mine is still roaming on the Rogers network even though I'm with Vodafone from Japan.
It's not that great a phone imo I don't see why people go nuts for these...they are so common in Japan. It only cost me about $60USD to get this phone when I was in Japan using my vodafone customer points, but they sell for hundreds privately...
