I recently ran into the phonebook sync duplicate serial number problem on my phone and was able to correct it using the instructions from bitpim. My wife has the identical phone and I am about to start using bitpim with it as well. Would it be a smart idea to download the phone info once, then do the fix before the problem arises or would you suggest just waiting till if and when the problem arises.

I guess, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, but what are the chances of this happening? Pretty much a sure thing, or is it rare?
