What is a decent messaging program for the blackberry? I would like one that handles aim & yahoo, since I know people using both.

Also, does it only run on gprs, or is a special plan needed?

I do not believe there is one that supports just AIM and yahoo. most suppot all clients i.e. msn, aim, yahoo, and icq. the most popular one would be verichat it is $35 and then $30 yearly. to check out all the web clients I would look at the FAQ at the top of the page since they are all listed in there. I think there is also a sticky at the top that talks about all the clients.

and yes you are going to need a data plan with your carrier in order to use a BB.

I tried Verichat and kept getting Max Connections errors and needed to remove my battery to clear the error. I am using IM+ and it has been working fine. It is a little slow to log into the servers but is very stable after that.
