I am thinking of purchasing a BlackBerry, but would like to know if they are capable of working with newsgroups. I use Outlook Express on my laptop for an online class I am enrolled in, and would definitely purchase a BB if I could do the same on it. And if so, which model(s) can do it? Thanks a lot!

I access newsgroups via Google using the standard Blackberry browser. For example, for the rec.arts.movies.past-films newsgroup, I have the bookmark: http://groups-beta.google.com/group...vies.past-films. I've only used it to read groups, not to post replies, so I'm not sure how full-featured it is. You might experiment with Google newsgroups from your desktop and see if it fits your needs.

Thanks for the reply! So it can handle subscriptions to multiple newsgroups? For example, the class has one newsgroup with a few different folders, one for assignments, one for team communication, class materials, etc? Thanks again!

Not sure if it's the optimal set-up, but I use a separate bookmark for each newsgroup. I haven't tried to use a single bookmark for multiple newsgroups.
