I have a friend that has this phone and when she turns on or off the phone it does a little startup shutdown theme. Does anyone know where in the menus to change it, currently she has it on some football theme and it's driving her nuts..she says she looked in the manual and can't seem to find where to change it.

I hope there is an actual menu in the phone that can change this and not have to use data cable and a program called lgetflash

setting -> sounds -> volume -> power on/off will allow you to change (mute) the power on/off tune.

I don't think you can change the football "theme"

just wundering..i'm currently not on contract..and i've seen this phone for free on a 12 month contract..

if i agree to commit to another year on my current plan can i get this phone for free or will i have to change plans?

I think hardware upgrade can only be done in 24 or 36 mth term (I maybe wrong on this) but call CS to confirm that as well they can check if your plan still renewable for another 12 mth or not.

I think it needs to be a new activation as well.
