ActiveSync Disconnect?

I just got an SMT 5600, and I'm new to Windows Mobile and Activesync...
There appears to be no way to disconnect the phone when it's connected via Activesync. Is the standard method of disconnection to just unplug the connector cable? Seems like the only way, but I'm worried about just pulling the plug without going through the usual Windows USB-device "shut down" procedure.
Can anyone help? Just unplug it, or am I missing something big here? Thanks in advance!
