I heard that someone found out how to do the i860 themes. I also heard that the info was posted under DaBombz section of nextelmodz.com and that there was a thread here on HoFo about it but I can't find it anywhere (it may have gotten lost in the upgrade of the boards...).... Anyone have any info?

who ever you heard this from was full of it. there is no themes for 860, just yet.
but people are working on it.

it is verrrry close to becoming a reality...Nexvision and Dga027 have already posted proof that the themes can be changed....and there are others at NextelModz that have figured it out too..so you won't be waiting too much longer dcromwell

Dude STFU already!! I suggest if you don't know what you speak of you just remain quiet. Themes have been done for the i860 for quite sometime it just has not been publicly released.
Even palettes have been in the work for the i860 and will soon be available for public consumption.

Everything posted so far have been Palettes, no themes. Themes contain images and palettes are just colors.

yep, and they're not really 100% either...some major issues. I've done it, but def not worth the time to do

This can and has been done but it's only a temp thing .... So for all your work to only have the pallette for 3 minutes or maybe 2 days at the most is dumb unless your troubleshooting. To all the newbies trying this your better off holding off cause 2 people have already had to bring their phone to the service center and pay $35 for a seed stock phone.

That's just the people that admitted to screwing up, It's in your best bet to just let this be worked on by people who know what they are doing and keep your phones working correctly.

its possible to get what ever colors you want, you can even have more then 1 palette by editing the palettes and setting them up for selection on different profiles this way you dont have to do to display/info.

currently there is no way to set a different wallpaper.

thats where im stuck at, i cant get the palette corls to show.

i can get default pallett to comeup, earthtone, but i cant change the colors. any help?

did you modify the earth tone palette?

btw. whatever pallete is displayed is dependant on the id u set in selected pallette field.

so if you put the id for the earth tone palette then you have to edit the et palette in the personalize part of the cp

err in place of themes, actually its just a software **** up cause there is no theme with an id greater then 3 so editing the value for selected theme to higher then 3 allows you to view the palettes on the phone you just have to select the palette with the selected palette field and edit the coresponding palette in personalize.

you cant select the palettes because like you said the i860 uses themes

the only way to have multiple palettes on your phone is to use a different profile that you edited in depot to have a theme id higher then 3 and the selected palette is based on the field for Profile # Selected Palette.

the reason it says denied is when you change 86 to a number above 3 what your doing is setting the selected theme to a number above 3 since there are only 3 themes the phone tries to load the theme with the id of the number you put in line 86

if there is no theme in the flash pack with that theme id the phone reverts to the palettes that are on the phone with the id you selected for the profile you have selected (line 47)

the reason it says denied is because they way the OS works is that when you select a wallpaper it saves a temporary theme somewhere in the phone with that wallpaper in the theme you select or it applies the wallpaper id to the theme id somewhere in the phone

if there is no theme with that id in the flash pack then there is no id to assign the wallpaper to or make a temporary theme hence the denied/failed message..

no they stay until the phone checks tries to access the theme id for which you have chosen in line 86

when it queries the flash pack to get the theme info to create the option to select it in the theme selection menu it realizes there is no theme with that id and changes it self back to the factory default theme or the theme with the id 1 or 0 or whatever it changes the default to. this only happens when u do into the display/info in settings

so dont do that and u can keep it so long as u want

should work just like all the other phones the i860 has the same os just an updated version with updated hardware

if you really wanted to get some of its functionality though u could poke your nose around in iden carrier rss.exe and try to enable those extra fields yourself but i doubt youll be able to make it happen.

i don't think you can have inverted anything for 860, becouse it uses themes not palletes. and you need a special program to put it in.

i read alot of stuff here i come here and read all day when im in the mood to mess with my phone and i find alot of anwsers that well i cant really find n e were else.

but there are A LOT of freeloading newbs that come here and try to get the quick anwser, and there are A LOT of dumb people who think they know alot with there lame comments to try to put the people that do know w7f there doing down

i just wanted to say thank you, to the guy that got banned his name was "7, seven, or se7en" but thank you for helping me with learning how to edit the palettes or themes on the i860 w/e u would like to call those things.
