bought a sandisk 1g duo card a few days ago.. puting mp3s and mp4 onto it but for some strange reason now the pc card reader can't even detect it. i tried 2 different card readers and on different pc's to no avail.. but yet when i put the card back into the p910i it works fine and i can play all my mp3s and mp4s.

i tried formatting the 1g in the phone then putting back in the card reader but all it says is please insert disc into drive:x .. went to sandisk website and it reckons it can happen with data corruption on the disc..and to solve the problem u format the disc in the device... well that didn't work, so i went to a camera shop and put my duo in a sony camera and formatted the duo again in the camera. came home but the card reader still doesn't pick it up.
the duo did work in the sony camera and the p910i but just not in the card readers i've tried when it did b4...

anybody have this problem and a solution ? it is bcos i don't eject the duo card in winxp just yank it out of the cardreader that this happens??? is my duo stuffed?

what use is 1g if i can't transfer files onto it quickly via a card reader

have you tried a 3rd card reader? There could be a change that the card readers you have had gone bad. I would try it in another card reader. If your phone and camera could read the card it means the cards ok.

The most probable reason is because your PC's card-reader is Memory Stick (or Memory Stick Duo) compatible but not Memory Stick Pro (or Memory Stick Pro Duo) compatible. Your San Disk 1g would be a "Pro" model.

nah i think both of my card readers got stuffed.. ? bent pin inside so it wasn't detecting the card inserted..

got another card reader under warranty now everything works a treat
