anyone have a stuck voicemail icon on thier sharp 902?

Ever since I got my voice mail set up on my new phone number my voice mail icon won't go away on my sharp 902 even though I have no new voice mail messages. Also EVERY time I call my voicemail and hang up i get a weird text message that just shows a triangle and some other figure as the subject but no message.
I am not using a regional voicemail number I am just calling my own number to get to my voicemail because I don't know if I have a regional number (im using Cingular is South Florida, Ft. Lauderdale to be exact) I don't know if this has anything to do with it. Does anyone else have this odd problem? any Ideas?

I get that with all my non cingular phones that I use on their network. The text message is supposed to tell your phone to turn off the VM indicator but it doesn't work for some reason

wow this is really annoying me. so there is no way to turn it off other than doing a master reset?
