Help New Treo Doesn't Work!

hey guys, as the title says, just got my treo today, it doesn't turn on, just the keyboard lights up and indicator light is orange/amber, if i pull that battery out, it shows the palmone screen then blacks out. i push the power button, nothing, just stays the same with the screen blacked out. i'm new to this phone, and i've searched around on this forum, still no answers, am i just an idiot or is my phone broken? thanks in advance guys.
P.S the phone is the treo 650 cingular

if its doing that right out of the box, i would take it back and exchange it.

Have you tired soft reset of hard reset?
