Hello i am new to this forum, so please be patient with me. I have searched the forums reguarding information on weather or not the Sharp SX813 will work here in the states and canada, and how easy or hard it maybe to unlock that phone, I have read that the 902SH is pretty tough to unlock, however i read on another forum that since the SX813 came out people should get that one because its already unlocked, i dont know weather or not that is true. I have a freind in Hong Kong that would beable to purchase the phone for me, i currently have a account with cingular.

Please any information on making the phone work here in the US would be great.

again i would like to say sorry if this has already been covered, and if thats the case could you please point me in the direction of that link

thanks

Derek

For you, it depends on where you are located. If you are in an 850mhz dominant area, then the SX813 may not be good for you because it doesn't support 850mhz. Basically, your coverage will not be the best it can be because you'll be running off the 1900mhz network only

which service providers use less than 900mhz? my sharp TM150 is a tri-band phone 900/1800/1900 and has great reception on T-mobile which uses the 1900 band in north america.

and yes the sharp sx813 is fully unlocked. so it should be perfect to use in n.america atleast on t-mobile.

Cingular uses 850 MHz exclusively in some markets while alongside GSM 1900 in others.
