Ok, I read this and several forums before I went out and got my new VX 8000. And I swear, I read a post where guy described having to file down a piece to make a USB cable made for the 6000/7000 to fit the 8000.

But now I can't find the post...and it's bugging the crap out of me. Aaaargh! Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or does the 7000 cable work with the 8000 without having to file it?

the 7000 cable has worked fine for me with no filing. You should be able to get it off ebay for about $7 shipped

K...I ordered it. I know I read that somewhere...I've been scanning everything...brewbackups.com, howardforums.com, etc, etc...going nuts.

The VX6000, however, will not work without filing. It is a different cable. The VX7000, VX6100, VX8000, and one other LG VX phone all share the same cable that is different than the VX6000.

If you have to you can use the 6000 cable like I have been using for a couple months now. Basically force it in there gently it works fine.
