I'm sure there is a way to do this...just have not figured it out. I have a small mp3 that I would like to use as a ringtone. How do I configure this?

Also, I have not been able to connect to MSN Messenger. Any ideas on why it just says connecting but never connects?

Thanks!

Anyone know anything about these issues?

Load the mp3 into Application Data/Sounds. It will show up in your list of ringtones.

Mine works fine and I didn't have to adjust anything. I don't know what the problem is. Are you getting any messages indicating a problem? Try the instructions...might be some troubleshooting issues in there.

If you can start internet explorer your msn should function. Do you have a data plan? As for ringtones, don't put them on your phone, put them on your memory card through active sync and make sure you don't put it into a folder there as the phone will not see them then. Install new programs or ringtones to the memory card or you will run out of phone memory quick and run into problems when applications are running in the background.

Is there a way to get MP3 or WAV to play for other notifications besides as the ringer? I have stuck files everywhere on the phone, and cannot get it to show up in the list. Thanks!

This is way easier if you have the phone hooked up to your computer. Copy the mp3 or wav file into Storage\Application Data\Sounds. I have a wav file that I transferred as my main ringtone, and an mp3 file that I transferred as my text/voice mail alert. Hope this helps.

You are right, but it still crappy.

An MP3 placed in that folder will not show in the list, but a WAV file will.

Bummer, but thanks for the help.

I'm also unable to get MSN Messenger to work on my SMT. I am connecting to the net via BT Passthru w/ my home desktop and via USB Passthru on my work PC (i.e. no GPRS connection is active). I am able to enter my standard passport account info (hotmail address and password) but when I attempt to connect, I get a message about not being able to connect to the service. My other internet features (even mobile MSN stuff) works fine.

If anybody else stumbles onto a solution, please post...

Thanks,
Chris
