HELP! i just got a datacable for my vx6100 and installed every driver I could find on the internet. The cd ones didnt quite work.... I can connect it to bitpim and it will send and recieve files but it wont detect the phone. Either I need a new driver or somethin else is goin on. I scanned the pics from the box for the cable.

Someone else had same prob as me.
"Just hooked up a VX6100 to Bitpim via a Datacable on XP.
Bitpim will NOT detect the phone ... BUT will transfer data back and forth between the phone and the program just fine.

Anybody have a clue as to why?"

Here are the pics btw.

I was having the same issue, turned out to be the newest version of bitpim. I downloaded verson .7.28 and all works fine.

Hey, guys. I had similar issues just the other day. Got this thing working now. Give me about an hour and I'll have a tutorial up for ya. (at the moment I have about 40 minutes before I work and need to grab some lunch) Nominate it for a sticky if it helps ya

I will have a tutorial up around 4:30. Unfortunatley I am unable to complete the tutorial without the program in front of me. I've finished about 3/4 of it and it should be more than detailed enough to get people going.

In the mean time, if you have drivers installed, go to the File Structure tab in BitPim and simply expand the root directory. (it is the forward slash) If this works, (you will see a large tree with various directories) go to the data tab and select "Get Data" this may work... if not, wait a few more hours so I can finish the tut.

wow. Thanks rangerdave-- for the compliment and the link. I've scoured the net for information about this stuff and that's the first time I've seen that even mentioned. It definitley looks a lot simpler. Still, the tutorial will hopefully help others in one fashion or another.

Although I will be sure to try yhis program as well, feature to feature, bitpim seems to be the same. What I really eant to be able to do is save messages from my voicemail on my pc. txt messages to, I suppose. First program to offer those features gets my vote!
