Ok, so i got my brand spankin new vx8000 and was all happy and excited. 1.3MP camera, vcast (which i love), video recorder, and best of all MP3 player!!! what more can you ask for?! Oh, and now on, my girlfriend wont yell at me no more cause now im with vzn and her phone bill wont come out $200 every month!
so after i got my phone, the sales rep told me "you cant put mp3s on it, and there is no cable for it!" i was thinkin to myself, "thats what you think! nothin that howard forum cant fix!" so after gettin the phone and givin the sales rep the "what are you stupid!?" look, i went to radioshack and bought me a future dail data cable for the vx6000 (i think that was the modle number, silver lg with camera, one b4 7000). so the radio shack guy saw my new phone and said, this wont fit in your phone, so i just smiled and gave another "what are you stupid?!" look and went home.
so i pluged the cable in my comp, connect the phone (didnt have to grind or sand the cable, it fits fine without any force!) and it asked me for the driver. wooohooo! so far so good! so i tried lookin up the driver in HF, but no luck! and i noticed it wasnt only me that was in the NEED FOR THE DRIVER! so after dlin whatever driver i could get hands on and none of them worked!!!!gettin ready to throw mt phone across the room, rippin the data cable out and cuttin with a chainsaw (you all kno how i feel!) i went to the this one last website. So as my last option, i went to the future dials website and installed their driver, which was for the LG VX 6000 and others, and BOOM! it worked!!!
After carefully readin the " [Tutorials] - - VX8000" thread, i dled the Bitmap .25. but that didnt work, so i decided to l the latest ver which was the .32, and it had the vx8000 on it! woot so after settin everything and puttin the comm thingy on auto, i went to the filesystem on the bitmap and it didnt work... i was like, "thats it!!! i had it!!!" so, i went bak to HF and read carefully on every single vx8000 thread i can find. once again there were many people with the same problem i had. there were many responses , but none worked. So just about as i was gonna give up on this whole thing, i saw my bitpim readin my adddress book from my phone!!! WHHHAAAT THE HACK!!!! and i click on the phonebook and my contacts were there!!!
So after that, i looked at my phone and it was off! thats werid, i never turned it off... then i went back to the [Tutorials] - - VX8000 thread an read how i could put mp3s on the phone. so i click on the "filesystem" and nothing is happenin... i click on my "log" and all im seein is...

repeatin over and over and over... again, the anger kicks in, but i didnt give up, so i started pondering for few mins (actually was watchin sport center on espn), and i came to the conclusion, maybe its sayin timed out cause the phone is off? and since the phone is off, its not able to get the data through??? DUH~~? so as my last choice and my only choice, as i was watchin the log sayin the samething, i turned on my phone and i saw...

VAAAAALAAAA!!! it worked!!!! so now i am able to put mp3s, ringtones and watever the phone could take. If you wanna put wallpapers in, or pictures in ur phone, you can also use PIXPLACE https://www.vzwpix.com, and send it yo yourself, you can also access it on ur phone, which is pretty cool! but newayz, now, everything i want to use the bitpim, i connect the cable to the phone (phone is on at this point), i open the filesystem and click on the tree thing (thing with the plus) and look at the log, on the log it will say, timed out this and that over and over, so while that is goin on, i turn of my phone, wait like 2~3 seconds and turn it back on, and it usually works after. if it doesnt, close everything, u might have to restart your comp, and start over. sometimes when you turn off the phone, that stupid log comes out, where it says abort bitpim, something else, and continue, just click continue and click on the tree thing on filesystem, its works too.
i am not a cell phone wiz, but i know few things, so if u have any questions ill try to answer it. i hope this helped you out and i hope the stupid **** thing WORKS!!!
jason-
