Ok, I have upgraded to the lg8000 and am waiting for it to get here, hopefully this week!! I have a few questions tho.

I have been using my vx6000 as a modem for my laptop, got the verizon connectivity kit. will i be able to use this with the 8000? I saw a post saying that the cable works if you connect it carefully. Will the program from verizon still work?

Also, is there a way to download additional themes for this phone? I haven't gotten to look at what comes preinstalled, but sooner or later I will want to know if this is possible or not.

Will bitpim be able to retreve videos off the phone?
And if I pay for mobile web, can I check my yahoo mail?
I have some other questions but time will answer them when I can actually check it out for myself on the phone!

currently V-cast is not in my area, but for anyone who can use it.....are you able to watch tv shows, for instance, smallville? or is it just news and things like that, things about the lenght of a commercial?

thanks!

i cant answer many of your q's but heres a couple. I am pretty sure you can retrieve videos on bitpim. Just go into the filesystem and find the video, click send phone information and it should get it for you.

If you want to pay for mobile web (most ppl on here dont ) then yes you can check yahoo. You can do it either through the web or you can go to messaging hit email and it takes you to the link for mail on aol, hotmail, yahoo, or other.

I dont have v cast available either but from what i understand it is just video clips, probably not too long because your phone can only hold so much. I dont think it streams video, just short clips of news, sports, things like that. Every review i have read says its not really worth the $15 a month. You do get unlimited web that doesnt use airtime minutes so thats a bonus...subtract the 5 for web and you payin 10 a month to connect at a higher speed and watch video clips.

the verizon rep told me v cast = broadband, mobile web = dsl speed, a little slower
